My name is Neil Kiernan and I have been writing since I learned how to spell. My first short story was in the 1st grade, it was called "Sink to Sea City". It was not a school project, it was something I wanted to do for myself. When I did finally get a creative writing task in school they asked me for one page about a mouse. Ten pages later the mouse had stolen a model airplane, and foiled the evil cat to save the day.

I discovered comic books during the 80's but I did go back to a lot of back issues to read them as far back as I could afford. The best team I have ever seen in comics was Chris Claremont writing and Jim Lee drawing X-Men. In those days X-Men ruled my life. Though I did read other comics. I still remember strapping on all of my heavy snow gear to walk to the local liquor store in Pontiac Michigan to buy the latest issues of "Uncanny X-Men", "Wolverine", "X-Men", "X-Factor", "New Mutants/X-Force", "Excalibur", "Daredevil", "Punisher", "Punisher War Journal", "Ghost Rider", "Deathlok", "Sleepwalker" the original Image studios "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" (The "R" rated version), and sometimes "What If?" or "Marvel Comics Presents".

Eventually I also got into Chaos Comics like "Lady Death", and "Purgatori". It's too bad most people only checked that out because of the breast sizes of the characters, because I rather liked the dark stories in those comics.

Starting in middle school and all the way through high school I always had a paper and pencil with me. I would write constantly. As if there was an endless fountain of ideas in my head. I remember my older half-brother got me a nice binder, and more paper and pencils for my birthday rather then a toy or video game because as he put it "I couldn't figure out what to get him, all I ever see him doing is writing."

I stopped writing eventually having given up on ever being able to get into comics. In those days the big corporations like Marvel and DC ran everything and getting into them was a daunting task. So I turned my creative mind to writing material for my friends and I for various dice and paper RPGs. (And eventually live action RPGs) It was my goal to tell compelling and memorable stories with characters that were more then just information givers. I still remember the day one of my NPC's died and it reduced a couple of the girls who were playing to tears and really messed up all the guys.

I usually ran Robotech, Werewolf: Wild West, Star Trek, or the Buffy the Vampire Slayer RPG. Whenever I did I always made the stories a bit grittier and more realistic then you would normally expect.

Recently my interest in writing has re-surged not just out of interest but out of a serious need. The economy here in Michigan has left me in a situation where it would be very difficult to get a job. And I am a single Dad who rents rooms to boarders to make ends meet. I have no family to watch the kids so getting a job is very difficult. So I am trying very hard to find a way to make even a meager living working from home. So I dusted off my old writing pencils and dug back in. Putting to paper the most popular of all of the RPG projects I ever did. Transforming these characters into a comic book cast.

I am hoping to finalize a comic book team for that task, however I am also more then willing to help other people write their projects.

I can write in depth character concepts, full and "living" personalities complete with flaws and talents. Names, details, concepts, motivations all in a matter of moments. If you want to flesh something out I can do it easily. If you want help with snappy dialogue I am good at this as well.

I write in the Dark Horse Comic book script format.

My writing influences are:
Chris Claremont (X-Men)

Fabian Nicieza (New Mutants, X-Force)

Joss Whedon (Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Dollhouse)

Quentin Tarantino (Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill),

Weiss and Hickman (Dragonlance)

R.A. Salvatore (The Dark elf Trilogy)

The writer teams from the following TV series: Battlestar Galactica, Highlander, Dark Angel, and the early seasons of Heroes.

For Anime/Manga:
Kentaro Miura (Berzerk)
Nobuhiro Watsuki (Samurai X, I didn't really care for the TV series. I like my anime/manga dark and gritty.)

And Gregory Widen, creator of the original Highlander, and the Prophecy series of movies.

My personal writing style tends to lean more on the dark gritty side like the current Batman movies, or Tarantino films. But like Joss Whedon I always balance this with witty humor and a chemistry between characters that helps the reader identify with them.

I can however adapt to whatever a given client wants out of a story. I can adapt to virtually any genre.

Ten pages later the mouse had stolen a model airplane, and foiled the evil cat to save the day.

Moral lesson from VTV - its ok to steal as long as you are fighting evil to save the world.

It's too bad most people only checked that out because of the breast sizes of the characters, because I rather liked the dark stories in those comics.

Translation - other comic nerds are known to wank over the huge tits of this anime, but not VTV hes above that he was into the writing only.

It was my goal to tell compelling and memorable stories with characters that were more then just information givers.

You have certainly managed to fabricate stories on this forum.

I can write in depth character concepts, full and "living" personalities complete with flaws and talents. Names, details, concepts, motivations all in a matter of moments.

Translation - I am excellent at inventing complex lies up instantly.

I am a serious writer looking for a serious artist and a studio to promote my book in. I have enough material to cover years of storyline. My characters have a lot of depth and I need an artist to help me make this happen. Email me at leveer@gmail.com if your interested. Or if you represent a studio that might be willing to help.

I would like to join the writer team. I am a very flexible writer and can generate backgrounds for characters and compelling personalities very quickly. I am also looking to work on a project of my own and need a serious artist for it.

I wouldn't base anything on what Marvel says. They have some terrible artists there, and turn away people I know are better. So much politics and "Not what you can do, but who you know" going on there.

We don't need them. I look forward to seeing your pencils combined with my writing to knock their socks off. Then when big companies like Marvel come knocking on our doors we can tell them to get stuffed. :)

Cities I lived in were Defiance, and Kal'Adun.

I am hoping we can build a community on the same server again even if we are in different guilds. The community on SWG was so stellar I actually miss my enemies from Tempest more then some of my friends on other games.

I have a vent server with a channel for people to talk about SWG if they like to help get that community started. Everyone from Tempest is invited, even if we didn't get along. (And even if I didn't know you. I am just trying to build an SWG style community again.)

1. I am important. And you don't want people to think that I am. So you spend time trying to defame me hoping that other people will suddenly believe I am not important.

OR

2. You like some other people with a strange sense of priorities spend entirely too much time on things that are not important?
