http://www.thezeitgeistmovement.com/joomla/index.php?option=com_kunena&Itemid=99999&func=view&catid=270&id=245382#245488

As of now, every new registered user who wants to post on this forum has to take a test. This will help with quality control, as they are required to review the materials.~p

I signed up for a account, let's take a look at the multiple choice test:

The following test is to gauge your understanding about The Zeitgeist Movement and The Venus Project. This test is not about your agreement with the movement but rather to prove that you have actually taken the time read the freely available materials on the subject. You will be given 20 random generated questions and must get 18 of them correct to acquire forum write access.

This test consists of questions derived from the following sources:
The Zeitgeist Movement Orientation Guide PDF
The Venus Project's "Designing The Future" PDF
Where Are We Going? Lecture Part 1 and Part 2
TVP/ZM Questions & Answers on the website

A central problem(s) with the monetary system is that:
Problems and scarcity equals profit.
Many forms of labor have no value to true social contributions.
The incentive for money leads to corruption.
All of the above

Global
Socialistic
Free of crime
A circular city

Social design must be most directly correlated to:
The state of population growth
The opinions of the population
The carrying capacity of the Earth
The rate of technological change

In the very center of Fresco's circular city design, we would find:
The central cybernated system
Energy and transportation sources/hubs
The central park
Total enclosure sub-city

In a resource-based economy the resources of the planet are deemed:
Universally related by systems theory
Tools for social creation
Common heritage of all the world's people
Expressions of symbiotic relationships

The Venus Project, as an idea in its most simplistic form, represents:
The application of collectivism for social operation
A socialist solution to environmental and social problems
A technocracy based method of global Management
The application of the scientific method for social concern

The true threats to humanity are:
Terrorists
Oligarchs and Money
Satan
Those common to every human being

Advanced maglev technology is documented to use:
Less than 5% of the energy for plane travel
Less than 2% of the energy for plane travel
Less than 20% of the energy for plane travel
Less than 1% of the energy for plane travel

The fundamental requirement for sustainability on this planet is:
The intelligent management of the earth's resources
Ethical distribution of goods
Universal educational
Using science for social design

In the process of transitioning to a RBE, which is the most important first step:
Survey social needs
Optimize production/distribution methods
Survey the planetary resources
Automate labor

From the view of the Movement, the monetary system is basically:
A tool of plutocracy
Annoying
In need of reform
Obsolete

The true motivation for the act of War is:
Revenge - industrial profit - spreading of ideologies
Industrial profit - resource acquisition - geopolitical alignment
Resource acquisition - spreading of ideologies - geopolitical alignment
Dispute resolution - spreading of ideologies - industrial profit

The progression of technology appears to be growing at a:
Linear rate
Exponential rate
Geometric rate
All of the above

Technological unemployment is defined as:
Displacement of human labor by machines
Displacement of human labor by systems theory
Displacement of human labor by failed technological systems
Displacement of human labor by androids

The free market system has a natural propensity for:
Monopoly and cartel
Division of labor
Equality and balance
Civil unrest

It is suggested that an efficient housing structure of the future be made of:
Glass and steel
Wood frames
Pre-stressed concrete
Steel and heat concentrators

Edit: I failed the first time by picking random choices, and it gave me a few different questions, but basically the same stuff. This was my favorite question though:

What is the basic safeguard against abuse in a resource-based economy?
Everyone is microchipped and tracked.
Once the need for money is surpassed, there will be little inherent reward in abuse.
People will be reeducated if they do not comply.
Genetic modification

...It's number 1 right -no wait that was the first movie, it's number 3!

The hell it's not about agreement with the movement. "True security, true threats to humanity, and true motivation for the act of war" are all a matter of opinion. If you don't agree with their warped opinions, you are out.

Good luck getting their critical mass. Way to alienate even more people.

I wonder how many current members would fail the test. Most of them are pretty obvious if you've seen Addendum, but some of them are technical stuff from the PDF's and lectures it mentions at the top. I've read and seen various bits of those and found them to be boring as shit. I doubt that all of the members have gone completly through all of that crap.

So do they require all existing members to take this test?

Because those forums are going to be really empty. I doubt most of the people who post there have even read that shit.

I think it's just new people. Also, they still let me register without taking the test, it didn't give me the test until I tried to post my first post.

Oh, so they will count you as a member for their statistics but you can't voice your opinion until you take the test.

Neat.

They are just attempting to indoctrinate more people with their heaps of boring retarded rhetoric. I'm surprised they don't take questions from Jacque's $45 lecture dvds. That would be more in alignment with their true goals.

VTV said the forums are for members and potential members only, but it looks like they are not even for potential members anymore, seeing how you need to wade through every shitty guidebook and lecture just to be able to talk to a few people. Of course you could just keep taking the test until you memorize the wrong answers or use google like in the case of the MIT question, but how many potential members are going to put up with feeling unwelcome like that? Meanwhile anyone who really wants to troll them is just going to figure it out, so it's a pretty big fail.

All this "test" is doing is putting another burden on the users of the site. As a "security" measure, it is an abject failure, but then all security is pointless, really. Locks keep out honest people only. This "movement" is alienating more and more people all the time. I think it's doomed to fail, which is disappointing, because we could have a world without this insane economy based on scarcity and control and money.

Well bear in mind that TVP is not the only RBE group and they hold no patent to it so anyone can do it, and others are. If TVP goes down it wont even make a sound when it hits the ground thats how insignificant it is.

In fact the concepts of TVP [the ones that make sense] are being looked into as we speak by various groups, so its not like the concept will die with TVP.

So yeah bottom line, it really doesn't matter if they fail, it just means one less artist selling his media and dreams to a fan club.

@aaron:

With regular updates when they change it to compensate :D

You know when I first heard of this "test" I though it was just a silly joke, the fact that they actually went through with it is amazing enough. But these questions aren't easy! 90% of the ZGM current forum members would probably fail it if only give one chance. You really have to read them to make sure you understand them and frankly much of the ZGM seem to be barely literate as it is.

Retarded.

It would be funny if some one created a keylogger type app that scanned for keywords from their material, which provided a series of possible answers. That way anyone could just crack the answers and get in.

on a serious note though:
They have certainly managed to alienate themselves from people with a curious nature, who would be willing to learn once having spoken to a few members to evaluate if its worth their time.

Also I actually think this is really funny:

This test is not about your agreement with the movement but rather to prove that you have actually taken the time read the freely available materials on the subject.

So anyone who manages to get in can still disagree with the movement, by their own words too.
Theoretically you could pass it and post your complete disagreement with them and they could not say you do not understand the material at all.

I know Peter and Tanktop have openly stated that they dont want people in the group who are not wanting to promote their group.
But this means that by them banning you it is merely personal or down to them not wanting dissenting voices present. It would further imply all they are doing it for is to keep people out who disagree and not to improve the knowledge of the material.

I believe this is just a tactic to delay people who want to post to the forums. It's not really going to weed anyone out, and it isn't intended to, it's just meant to slow down the progression from registration, to posting in the forums. The tactics I've used to get my messages into the forums are difficult to combat. The only option, aside from manually accepting all new registered users, is to try to slow down the ability of users to immediately post in the forums.

Of course there's a workaround, though. I'm in the process now of accumulating ID's on their web site, through various anonymous proxies, and getting them through this "testing" process. Once I have a few dozen, I'm going to use them in a serial fashion to do exactly what I've been doing, posting and reposting information that they're trying to exclude or want to squelch.

Nothing really bothers them more than flagrant disregard and circumvention of their "bans". I've told them over and over, you can ban an ID, you can ban an IP, but you can't ban me, and they can not. I've proven it to them over and over again.

Thanks, but actually I think all those are burned out by now. tanktop has banned virtually if not every proxy on that list, and he did so all at once, so I've switched to another list of proxies that's a bit more difficult to find in a Google search. :D
