I asked a believer in the NAFTA superhighway why it was bad. I told him the interstate system has improved living standards. His only response was it would make it easier for the UN to take over the waterways. He never explained how that was.

Any way are there real reasons why such a highway would be bad.

The only issue I have is that Mexican trucks do not have to conform to the same maintenance and safety standards that American trucks do.

But that has nothing to do with any UN takeovers and it doesn't even make it "bad."

There are less waterways through the midwest which is where the "superhighway" goes, if they wanted to take over waterways they'd have superhighways on the east and west coasts, especially the east.

The SPP was the first step, but then the SPP was shut down so... now we're waiting on a new first step I guess.
