Argh. The last thing I want to do with my day is waste an hour of it listening to an insufferable self-important conspiracy theorist drone on with his condescending crap. I'll wait to hear you all talk about it tomorrow.

I recommend the transcribed text versions, faster to read/skim for the interesting bits.

http://thezeitgeistmovement.com/wiki/index.php?title=Category:Translation_Project

Not that there are any real interesting bits sadly..

Nor that anyones bothered to transcribe for just about ages to keep up...

Wake me up if he says anything amazingly useful..

And no, I don't even bother to skim them now, I find The Sun slightly more useful to me..

That's because most of his stuff is lifted from theosophist texts he read.

I have yet to find any original ideas in TZM.

A little bit ago, he said that all ideas are "stolen" in a response to someone claiming that Fresco stole his ideas from prior futurists.

He just said that all items at the store could be free if everyone shared instead of competed.

No. Ideas are influenced by previous ideas.

They're only stolen when you steal them.

He's making excuses for lifting chunks of other peoples' stuff and using it as his own. Merola claims he had never heard of Blavatsky or Alex Jones or all these other people he yoinked material from. That's stealing, if he had acknowledged the influences of others, that would be a different story.

But he didn't.

Not only did he not acknowledge these influences, but he deliberately lied about them.

He concluded it saying that it doesn't matter whether Fresco stole anything or was simply influenced. The point is that these ideas will lead us toward an RBE.

He is trying to deal with being called a cult. saying it is used in a prejoritave manner, and is trying to say it is only religious in meaning.

Bullshit. he has no idea about cult definitions.

I'm not listening anymore. He's talking about neurochemicals as if he knows how they affect behavior.

I quit.

the zeitgeist movement does no science..their members do science, then says jacque does experiments and had his lab confiscated back in time.. then goes on about the scientific method and provides no evidence of science theyve done.

Bullshit

That's the first I've heard of this "confiscated lab." If that happened, wouldn't Fresco tell that story every single time a microphone was in his face?

Pseudointellectual backflips and dancing may impress and work on greasy teenagers on a forum, but not regular people, who he will need to convince to bring about his RBE fantasy.

I don't suppose he ever mentions conspiracy theories, not even to say "the movies aren't the movement"?

He did, Muertos. I also struggled to understand a rant he had regarding 911. It sounded as if you should stop criticizing personal biases and focus on the movement. Don't quote me on that, but it's what I heard.

Oh, so criticizing 9/11 conspiracy theories which are destructive and false is now just a "personal bias?"

Merola, if you're reading this, and you probably are, that is incredibly lame.

I am focusing on the movement. Your movement is about conspiracy theories, and about you.

But when the foundations of the movement are built on offending my personal biases, how can Merola expect me to focus on everything else concerning the movement?
