![]() Level: 0 CS Original | > Jacque cant use computers he doesnt know what they are, he needs people to do it I did ask ages ago why Fresco doesn't come onto forums, and was told I think by Roxanne, that he doesn't like to type.. So I suggested, then why doesn't he come onto the voice chat then.. (I never received an answer to that one..) > He comes across as a rambling old fool who can't remember which anecdote to re-tell. I've met young fools like that too :-) Often, they are a strong personality type, who tend to have difficulty answering peoples questions. Its quite possible to get through to them, but you often have to be blunt (Wasn't it Fresco telling us to do that as well..) and repeat yourself a few times, and insist upon an answer more in line with your question and not just the usual brush off comment they are so used to giving. Which is why I'd like a few good hours with Fresco to figure out if he is a genuis thats difficult to work with (like many folk I know..) or a fool. (which seems less likely, if you want more of a fool, look towards PJ.. though he at least comes onto the forum, which is more than can be said of Roxanne. (Though I think sometimes she posts under the admin handle.)) I can understand the reasoning to avoid forums, as its supposed to be best if you can spin PR by controlling what you say, but in the process of doing that, it doesn't look very honest, and in my view, its far better to be open with people and let them make up their own mind who you are, as trying to pretend to be something your not will not ring true with many people eventually.

![]() Level: 0 CS Original | It would be nice to see someone succeed in galvanising the public into action, Fresco appeared the most promising as of late. (The last great promise was PirateBays Sealand effort.) Who does anyone look towards as leading from the front to build a better future for us ?

![]() Brainwashing you for money Level: 15 CS Original | I think the most socially aware comments you get on demonoid are 'do not download this, the keygen is a trojan and makes virus scanners bug out' Followed swiftly by a more socially aware reply' yes thats what keygens do its a false positive' Matt if you get your social awareness from there you wont even need to discuss it.

![]() I can't stop posting pictures of poop, what the fuck is wrong with me? Level: 5 CS Original | @nanos "I did ask ages ago why Fresco doesn't come onto forums, and was told I think by Roxanne, that he doesn't like to type.. So I suggested, then why doesn't he come onto the voice chat then.. (I never received an answer to that one..)" For a guy such as Fresco who advocates technology in our daily lives I see him being the biggest hypocrite for what he says when he doesn't even like to type on a keyboard... Again it's such a small thing to prefer not to type but to me that's relevant and a small example that paints a bigger picture as to what I see the Venus project as which is a a con job.

![]() Level: 0 CS Original | > I'm just unsure how PirateBay was going to galvanize people into social action Well, first they collected some $20k from donations, which they said they was going to spend buying some land someplace to build a new society/community. Then they went and choose a dozen or so folk from their forums to head up a team for this task. (I was one of the lucky few chosen..) and the FNF (FreeNationFoundation) was born. Everyone wanted to be an admin, and with folks clambering into the captains chair, we got more and more hangers on, and eventually one of them decided to boot everyone else out and run the ship into the ground himself.. (No that wasn't me! I can't even remember his name now, but I did bump into him on the TVP forum and asked him why he did it..) The money ran out, after being spent about as unwise as you can go with it. (They raised in total about $3k, but spent it all in just a few months on very expensive servers, rather than going with cheaper options..) It all ended very much like TZM is going at the moment, with VTV style characters, bannings, and no one taking notice of serious ideas on how to make money.. For a while, the place was abuzz with the kind of 1960's hippy style feeling about a new future being built, and people was a little more cooperative in that at least they threw a bit of money at the problem.. (Though there was more talk about piracy than there should have been in my view.. at one point I pissed off piratebay I imagine because I'm anti-piracy and as such my servers came under attack from theirs for a while until they cooled off and stopped!) Don't you just love the way I seem to make friends wherever I go :-) > I think you might spend a little too much time on the Internet, man. Probably true that, but I'm often multi-tasking when I am, so its not all totally wasted time, plus I do get an awful lot of good advice, and help from the net that previously would have been very hard to come by. (Its a great way to network and find folk with similar interests, otherwise I'd be very much alone in my world.)

![]() Level: 0 CS Original | > small example as to what I see the Venus project as which is a a con job. It doesn't help does it, when there is so much he could do to look less like a con. Many people have said so over the years, but I doubt little or none of what was said ever reached Fresco's ears, being prescreened out by those around him.. As such, I always wanted to see some interview with Fresco where someone actually puts these points across direct to him without PJ or Roxanne being in the way, or being deflected by his comments and drilling him for an actual real answer. (Why, just the other day, someone I know whose quite smart and working on a project, I suggested they use a forum to help develop it, but they went all 'well I don't know how to use a forum at my age, as a reason not to!', I guess I'll have to visit them in person and show them how then! its as bad as trying to get my mum to use a mouse..) At least VTV has got Fresco on his radio show from time to time, even if the questions are prepaired and prescreened (I think only one of my many questions ever made it through!) and Roxanne answers most of the questions.. But its so little, and they don't seem to understand that. Nor do they seem to understand how bad things look from outside looking in, and that isn't helped by sticking their fingers in their ears and not listening to advice when its given..

![]() Level: 0 CS Original | Indeed, if Piratebay can rustle up $20k from a bunch of spotty kids, I'm sure Fresco could do better with rattling the tin, as he might at least be a little more trustworthy than Piratebay! (Who have yet to spend the money they promised they would..) Which is why I would be more keen for people to be allowed to raise money on the TZM forums to develop projects. (Rather than just to buy themselves a new computer for offical use..) But alas we aren't allowed to do that for some unexplained reason, as if making money is fine for the likes of PJ or Fresco, but somehow evil for the rest of us.. (Now that makes it look like they are conning us, its either that, or incredible stupidity on their part... now I wouldn't rule out the stupidity part as I've seen that kind of attitude on other modern forums, who are anti-business, as if thats going to help!)

![]() Level: 6 CS Original | "But alas we aren't allowed to do that for some unexplained reason, as if making money is fine for the likes of PJ or Fresco, but somehow evil for the rest of us." PJ probably fears that fundraising event would lower his own credibility or power within the movement. For instance, my team has been looking for a means to setup low-cost privacy internet for some time, but the investment is just too high to make it worth the effort, although you could probably find some guys interested once it works. If TZM would allow public fund-raising, guess how soon I'd have a movie made to explain the benefits of increased network privacy with a small pitch for donations at the end. Despite the fact that I actually believe in its use, we're dealing with guys who still believe that the USA is a NWO-type construct ruled by big business who is out to kill the little guys.
