"Personally, and this is purely speculative on my part and not based on any fact, but personally I feel there is a possibility that there was some sort of collusion," Randall told reporters in North Carolina yesterday. "I don't know how or why, but in that situation, if you have someone from a company violating a safety process and the government signing off on it, excuse me, maybe they wanted it to leak."

No wonder VTV is a teabagger.

If Obama arrested this man for making this claim, I might actually be ok with it. People this dumb should be nowhere near politics.

But could you imagine the backlash?

Anyone been paying attention to Beck lately on this? I swear, it's like he's grinding his teeth, biting his lip, and using all his physical and mental energy to refrain from saying this is a conspiracy.

Funny you should say that, Genogza, because today was the first time I sat and watched an entire Beck episode. (Around the Horn and PTI were replaced with golf...)

Beck claimed that he does not think this is a conspiracy. What he was emphatic about was how Obama "declared war" on oil. His war references ("going to battle", mentioned how we prepared for world war 2) during the first oval office speech the other night indicates that Obama is dead set on getting away from oil as a response. He's apparently more concerned with ditching oil than fixing the spill because he spent 20 minutes with BP yesterday and made little to no mention of fixing the spill during his address.

The question I have is why is Beck so concerned about ditching oil? He claims he's concerned about all of the jobs lost in drilling, but come on. Let's say Obama used this spill as a platform to launch a major overhaul of energy use in America. What is the issue?

I suppose the problem is that Beck thinks progressive thinking automatically leads to state socialism. It's understandable because Beck has started reading history. The 46 year old admitted today that he supported the Patriot Act when it was first introduced. It was when he started reading history that he realized that Bush is a progressive, and the Patriot Act is evil.

Those are his words. The guy was around 40 years old when he started reading history? Ok, I'm excited to see what he learns when he reads some more. Will he find out that Reagan wasn't so hot?

I usually watch a little bit of Glenn Beck and Redeye at night, both pretty entertaining... though Redeye doesn't take itself anywhere near as seriously.

The Skousen piece was interesting. I don't understand how Beck's extremism fits even into Fox News.

I've never understood why Christian rightwingers will support Beck despite his Mormonism but not support Mitt Romney because of his Mormonism.

Did any of you see the "Founding Father's Father's Day Special" Episode? Clearly, the "Council of Dads" is just an allegory for the CFR. GLENN BECK IS A NWO SHILL!!!

Every now and then for the entertainment factor. Oh, and the Ray Stevens commercials.

^ I guess that belongs in the CT/Bad music thread though.
