![]() Genuine American Monster Level: 70 CS Original | "It means you don't have to worry about finding arable fertile land and like buildings building up saves resources." If we ever find ourselves in a post apocalyptic future where there is more energy available than arable land, this might make sense. Different plants require different temperatures, different levels of watering and different levels of light, both filtered and unfiltered. I actually garden, and this whole idea sounds like bullshit and the sort of "catch all" planning that appeals to people who really don't know what's involved in actually growing plants. Where does the energy come from to regulate the irrigation? Where does the energy come from to regulate the temperatures in the buildings? Where does the energy come from to make sure certain crops aren't getting more light than they can tolerate? Has Merola ever been in a greenhouse that is not climate controlled? Guess what, its really fucking hot in there. If growing plants were as easy as Merola thinks, more people would do it. But I'm sure he has vast agricultural knowledge from living in New York City. Yeah I guess if you had limitless free energy, 100 foot tall vertical organic gardens would make sense. I can't think of a single example of limitless free energy that makes this idea plausible. Basically, this entire idea hinges on unlimited, free energy. Which is why I think its stupid. | |||||
