Level: 10 CS Original | It has occurred to me that if they made a movie the way truther claim 9/11 happened it would be the stupidest conspiracy movie ever. Here's my review of a hypothetical 9/11 Truth Movie. So there are several things in this movie that really stand out as being just plain stupid. For starters we are told the main bad guys have to create fake hijackers, since they aren't really going to crash planes with real hijackers into the buildings. The real planes will be remotely controlled. Okay, I'm with them so far... but they go further than that, we are told that they used the names and identities of real people all ready to stand up and say they are alive and expose the conspiracy afterwards! This is even more ridiculous when you realise this would mean our bad guys would have to actively spent time researching these people in order to steal their identities and even allow them to live afterwards. What would have been so hard in just photoshopping some 'ol random Arab lookin' faces together and create some nonsense backstory? Another thing that didn't make sense in this movie is that they went over the top trying to make things more interesting for absolutely no reason other than they wanted to make it even more mysterious and make the bad guys seem more devious. But what it actually does is make the bad guys seem like morons and the entire film seem ridiculous and pointless. For example, why would they go to the trouble of crashing real jets into the WTC buildings and then go to the trouble of constructing some kind of magic act where people THOUGHT they saw a plane fly into the Pentagon but really it just flew over, landed somewhere and they had the plane destroyed and passengers killed and now had to plant plane parts, bodies, DNA evidence all over the place. Now I understand that makes them seem real smart (and real lucky), but at the same time we have no motivation as to why they would want to do any of that so it actually makes them seem extordinarily stupid. You'd think they would just crash the real plane into the building, but this movie apparently didn't think that was interesting enough. Add more conspiracy! Add more mystery! I don't care if it makes sense! Is that how it went down in the writers meeting? And that's where this movie really starts to loose it for me. See I'm all for a good conspiracy movie, but when stuff happens for no reason and when the bad guys have no motivation to do the things they do I start to drift out and not care anymore. The worst part is the end where they explain that the entire reason they are doing this is to attack Iraq and Afghanistan. So they want to attack Afghanistan because we are told they want to build an oil pipeline, but then they cut to nearly 10 years later and they still haven't built it yet and we are given no explanation for it. It also tells us they wanted a reason to attack Iraq, but they constructed no links to Iraq in the first half of the movie when all this shit is going down. They even seem to acknowledge this in the movie when the main bad guys have to lie about connections to 9/11, then have to admit Iraq had nothing to do with it. It seems the only reason for any of this is just a way for our intrepid team of good guys to say that this shows how guilty they are. Its just lazy, lazy writing... You see at some point you really start to realise that everything our main good guys uncover was just a plot device based on the incredible stupidity of our bad guys that behave that way for no reason. Its worse than the cliche's in Bond movie's where the bad guy tells James Bond all their evil plans and then puts him in a situation you know he will get out of, rather than just telling him nothing and shooting him in the head. In short there's nothing intelligent in how the investigators make their case, its just a matter of pointing out the incredible stupidity of the bad guys. This is completely contrary to what I want to see in an intelligent conspiracy movie. I want to see a conspiracy that appears to be rock solid and our main investigators have to WORK to uncover some information and evidence. Another good example of this is near the start of the movie when President Bush, one of our main bad guys, sits for an extended period of time in a school room in front of a bunch of kids while the attack has started. We never have any motive explained for WHY he would do this its just accompanied with some spooky music and then later on our good guys can say this makes him look guilty. Now call me picky, but if they were going to the trouble of carrying out this amazingly convoluted conspiracy why would they knowingly act in a way that we're told makes them look "guilty"? But as with everything in this film its just a way to advance the plot. Another example is that they didn't include hijackers on flight manifests, presumably all so our good guys could point to it later. And again you can call me picky I'm expected to believe they can engineering demolitions with mysterious demolition methods never used before or since and participation of many government agents and agencies and yet can't get 9/11 put on Bin Laden's Most Wanted page? Again, presumably its all so our good guys can use that later. And it gets worse, they can't seem to stop themselves blabbing about the conspiracy to everyone! For example there's one character called Larry Silverstein who owns the lease on the WTC complex, we are told that he participated in the conspiracy but he goes on TV and admits to blowing up his own building? Why would he do that! There is no motive given. Because the writers were lazy. And this is really just touching the surface of the problems of this movie. Stuff just happens for no reason, the bad guys make the stupidest mistakes for no other reason than to advance the plot and they have no believable motivation for carrying it out at all. I give this movie a enthusiastic "fuck you" rating.

Level: 12 CS Original | You forgot to mention how they chose real hijackers from an ally state instead of Iraq or Afghanistan. I admit - the first few times I saw this movie I thought it was amazing. But I'm starting to see how this was indeed some pretty terrible writing.

Level: 0 CS Original | I think to really qualify as a Truther film, the best approach would be to cut it together from snippets of other people's conspiracy movies. Then distribute it in the form of a dozen 10 minute segments on youtube.
