So i got into this debate with one of Alex's followers and somehow he/she ended up telling me about valid arguments, and gave me this as an example:

1. Alex Jones is Somebody's Daddy.

2. nevain is Somebody.

3. Alex Jones is nevain's Daddy.

I'm actually curious to see what you guys think: Did this person successfully produce a valid argument?

No because somebody is a placeholder. It is a generic placeholder also, in that it has the vague application of multiple possibilities.

This then can be utilised to fill in the blanks. ergo

KING KONG IS SOMEBODY...therefore Alex Jones is King Kongs daddy etc..

This is simply a propositional fallacy [Affirming the consequent] or an informal fallacy [Correlation does not imply causation].

In other words: The assumption that correlation between two variables implies that one causes the other is false logic.

Being a father does not necessarily mean Alex is not crazy.

Ask him if he understands the difference between validity and soundness, most CTs do not.
