Because, you know, it's such an important issue.

Edit: Someone on the FB group posted this link. http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/reality-check-with-polly-curtis/2011/sep/26/1?fb=native Apparently, one web editor prefers the CE/BCE terminology. I still think it's funny, though, as it's even less important and the fundie right still goes insane.

Being Christian it's really no big deal to me, but to many Christians in this area it will be seen as an attack on the faith and an attempt to wipe away the faith from history. Basically, by changing the way dates are stated, you're basically desecrating Jesus' birthdate or some garbage like that.

As someone who isn't a Christian at all, I still find CE/BCE to be really stupid. As if somehow we're pretending the calendar isn't based around the birth of Jesus, it's incredibly stupid. It's a great way to play make-believe and be a revisionist, but it's unrealistic and silly.

Fair point, though I'll also say it has got to the point at times that I use BCE/CE more naturally than BC/AD. Probably blame that on college textbooks, but then again I am only one out of billions, so I won't generalize.

While a trivial change, I like it. Whatever we can do to remove anything supernatural based from civilization is fine with me.

I don't care either way. This is such a non-issue it's ridiculous.
