For fuck sake freeflyer, stop censoring yourself, the site does it automatically, you're making yourself look stupid, it's not funny.

It's not any less retarded then when people say things like "bullsh*t" when they don't have to.

Please show me the rule that says you have to self-censor. That's why the site does it automatically for people that aren't logged in.

OK. I didn't know that. I read somewhere that since school kids access it cursing should be kept minimum, or something like that, long time ago. But its not all that important, from now on when i wanna say fuck, i'll say fuck.

ON TOPIC

"Why People Believe Weird Things" by Michael Shermer is pretty good. I'm currently working my way through Carl Sagan's "Demon Haunted World", and after that I have "The Believing Brain" (also Shermer) in queue.

Some of the things in The Believing Brain were already covered in Why People Believe Weird Things, but the new book adds loads of new info. I personally recommend reading both.

The Elegant Universe by Brian Greene, it's about theoretical physics, most specifically quantum mechanics and string theory.

Does he say anything about healing your ailments with quantum energy at the quantum level?

Incredible book and while I love Briane Greene's writing style, I wouldn't recommend this book unless you're really interested in string and M theory.

I'm currently halfway through Brian Greene's The Fabric Of The Cosmos and it's just mind blowing.

Thank you guys for the recommendations. I put the believing brain and the elegant universe in my wish list. I am currently reading The Moral Landscape by Sam Harris, I'll review it here once I'm done.

By the way, has anybody read "The Magic of Reality: How We Know What's Really True" by Richard Dawkins? The title sounds very appealing to me.

Great book!

The Magic of Reality: How We Know What's Really True

It's actually a children’s book and I don't think it's out yet.
