In all seriousness, though, I agree with matt. If the teabaggers really do try to go through with this, their base might be happy at first, but in the end, I think it'd be absolutely political suicide to let it go that far. | |||||

Level: 1 CS Original | Naw. It is like in the movies. They are stringing it out for the drama. But mostly to score political points off each other. Raising the debt ceiling is an easy decision compared with the alternative. They'll continue to do it for as long as they can get away with it. Ultimately the act of raising the debt ceiling is meaningless if other countries eventually feel that the US level of debt is unsustainable. Then bring on the IMF restructuring. | |||||
