Level: 1 CS Original | Ted talk from an expert in computer security talking about people's perception about security in general. Some of what he says about the use of models to determine whether we are safe and secure or not is interesting and can explain why some people tend towards conspiracy theory, like basing your models off of feelings. http://www.ted.com/talks/bruce_schneier.html</p> My unicorn defenses are 100% effective.

Level: 1 CS Original | I've had a series of epiphanies over the last few months, the most important within the last couple of days. I am burned out defending a group that willfully allows for ignorance to flourish, this may sound harsh to those from TZM who are reading this but it has gotten to the point where I no longer post on the TZM forums to exchange ideas and talk about exciting changes in technology, but rather to respond to supposed "members" and their damaging, ignorant pronouncements. I was serious in my commitment and I took the time to familiarize myself with the RBE concept and how it works which requires no small time investment in reading in history, economics and politics. It was disheartening to see that others were too lazy to do the same and instead chose to bring in and project their own agenda. It is understandable in this light why JF decided to split. Next I was trolling some destonians and posting a response on Muertos blog apparently they are supposed to have an open question/answer forum and I thought that would be good for laughs seeing as they always lock down their youtube channels and strictly moderate their forums to talk about Desteni and conspiracy related material only. It is no secret that I do not like Desteni, and I think that they are dangerous and are taking advantage/brainwashing vulnerable young people. It always rubbed me the wrong way when Muertos would compare TZM to Desteni, but this is how people see TZM. What 36 year old professional has a facebook profile with the middle name "Zeitgeist"? Of course people would find that dogmatic and off putting. What person would come here and call himself "TeeZedem" and directly engage his critics? Again someone who was perceived as dogmatic and probably a little to full of himself. So back to Desteni, I asked myself what they could do as a group to make me give them the benefit of the doubt, and the answer is nothing. Regardless how I feel about basic income grants, I would never trust them as an organization. I used to be annoyed when Billl would make statements like "If TZM/TVP ever got into power I would join the military to fight them." It seemed an irrational position to take not to mention it made me wonder if he was perhaps slightly challenge. But I would take Billl's position when it comes to Desteni, because although I feel they have a nugget of a good idea, it is wrapped in a shit sandwich. Which is exactly how the mainstream perceives TZM if at all. So where are TZM's scientific and economic advocates? Gabor Mate came right out and said he has nothing to do with TZM and only was in the the latest documentary so he could talk about his research, he did not in fact know that this latest documentary was produced with TZM in mind. I know there are economists and scientists who advocate a more collaborative system but would never risk their professional reputations in being associated with TZM. Kind of like being an engineer and being associated with AE911Truth.org, I can't imagine that looks too good on the resume. This brings me to the final straw. I was listening to Doug Mallette talk about a convention he attended to give a talk on the RBE and when asked if he went as a representative of the movement he said no, because of the negative associations of the name with the first movie. I understood that completely. You can have a good idea but people will never listen to you if the organization you represent is perceived as flaky. I've been beating my head against the wall for months, thinking I could help rework how TZM is perceived, but we still attract the cranks. I still want a more sane collaborative system and I think we are going to end up there eventually, but I don't think that TZM or TVP is going to be what gets us there. We need to take the idea and build an organization around that, not try use a movie name that started out as conspiracy to market a movement, no matter how many people viewed it. TZM is coordinating a food drive in September, and I was clamoring for this type of action months ago, but I think this may be too little too late. I wish them luck but I am done. tl:dr version I got irritated because Desteni and TZM are often tarred and feathered in the same sentence, but that is most likely due to the similarities in dogma. No scientist or economist will risk their professional reputation to be associated with TZM in their present form. Even our talking heads are trying to camouflage their TZM associations to talk about the RBE.

I shoot you dead. Level: 9 CS Original | I'm very glad you've come to realize all that and have jumped off the sinking ship that is TZM. I really am. Now you can take that time, energy and drive to work with organizations that don't have reputations tarnished by conspiracy theories and cranks. And I hope you do just that.

I can't stop posting pictures of poop, what the fuck is wrong with me? Level: 5 CS Original | @Muertos I have said to you in the past that when you opened to the doors towards towards learning about Desteni CS and others would get a better perspective of what internet cults are about. Vasper85 is a prime example of what CS is talking about when it comes to dogma belief. When a person becomes so emotionally attached to a cult like TZM they often do not listen to reason but when you begin to show them similar cults they often with time begin to see similar traits within their own cult. At first like Vasper85 has said and done they may attempt to fix things but eventually come to the conclusion that they cannot. At this time Vasper85 and possibly others go into denial until eventually something clicks be it getting mad over something or something else but but eventually some people come to the realization that something may be wrong with a organization they joined, that maybe there organization isn't good as Ithey make it sound to be, and then finally maybe they should no longer be/represent this organization anymore. I'm glad that CS has had success stories like Vasper85 and others when it comes to making them realize how their not thinking rationally. I really do think by learning more about internet cults as a whole we and others can learn more as well as compare internet cults amongst each other to see what tactics/strategies they implement for recruitment. @Vasper85
That's exactly what I thought.
I believe Desteni values money which is something that you advocate against because it's a TZM ideology. Money is vital if you want to live in today's society unless of course you want to live on the fringes of society then welfare it is. Desteni does have 1 realistic value that is actually good and that is liking money. If you were to ask me which ideology seems to be more realistic as to if someone could live by right now I'd say Desteni has a more solid and realistic belief system in terms of giving money importance and TZM has a very dangerous belief system that is unrealistic and if someone were to live by the TZM system as of now they would not only not have a healthy environment from a lack of money but their mental health is put into serious question as well. What I'm saying is when a person does not have any money or a lot of money, I'm betting their there mental as well as there physical health declines as towards this belief more so than if one were to believe in Desetni idelology. When I think of Desteni I just think of crazy bald headed people. When I think of TZM I think of poor, crazy, and mentally unstable Jared Lee Loughners. Peter Joseph said it himself that TZM is full of poor people. Similarly Bums are another group that advocate against money and also advocate not having a job something TZM ideology is basically about. If a gun were pointed to my head and I was asked to pick a ideology between TZM or Desteni ideology to believe in I'd pick Desenti over TZM after giving much thought to it. Don't get me wrong though Desenti is piss poor ideology and completely crazy when it goes into channeling Hitler but as far as tangible realistic goals it has way more ground in reality than TZM ever had.
You're Canadian, so you'll naturally be against any recognizable authority figure and of course see my statement as irrational. Here in America my statement is a good thing to protect ones own country from in this case ideological retards such as TZM who promote communism.
I would agree and would do something similar as well. I'd probably be more serious with Desteni though because they have more realistic goals and would have more of a possibility of accomplishing these goals than TZM ever could. TZM has nothing, everything was made in TVP. The only thing TZM has is Peter Joseph's films that's it. I think of TZM as a fan club to promote conspiracy theory's and Peter Joseph's films and not really do anything else.
The thing is internet cults such as TZM and Desteni are very similar to each other. The fact that their is a comparison of the two is the reason your no longer with TZM anymore. If Muertos never posted a thing about Desteni I'm a betting man you'd still be with TZM. With that I hope CS explores more into different internet cults besides TZM and Desteni so we can learn and understand more about internet cults. I've told people this a few times but internet cults is a new recognized phenomena that is a bit of a obscure topic to begin with. The more we learn, write and gather info about it the less obscure it is and the more legit or possibly less legit it can get.
