"why?"
Because they are full of Pseudohistory and Conspiracy Theories. Plus some Dan Brown fans I know act like the books are based on fact; when it is 100% B.S.

also he's a bit dubious in his Mind Control series, he's using methods outside of psychology most of the time in those.

I hate the Dan Brown books. I hate the insipid movies made from them even more.

Read Umberto Eco instead. You get the same subject matter, only done intelligently and by someone who actually knows something about medieval history. Plus, Eco makes fun of conspiracy theories. "Foucault's Pendulum" is probably the most effective anti-conspiracy novel ever written, and it's absolutely riveting, if you get your brain in gear for it.

I couldn't get into it. That book came out about the time I was still waking up from my CT daze. One of the CTs I was getting into before I quit was Holy Blood Holy Grail, but never got around to reading the book just yet.

To me it just seemed like a way to sneak in CTs into the mainstream so I never bothered to read DVC.
