I enjoy posting comments on NPR articles, but this was the first time I had been accused of being involved in a conspiracy regarding them.

One of the resident wingnuts opined that it was odd how every single post I had made in a particular thread received four recommendations. I attempted to point out to her that my final post had only one recommendation and my initial post had only one recommendation. I didn't bother to point out that one post received fifteen recommendations. I suggested that perhaps she was seeing patterns that didn't actually exist.

Undaunted by reality and drunk on apophenia, she then insisted that I was somehow involved in a diabolical plot in which I use additional NPR accounts to recommend my own posts.

It was an incredibly bizarre experience, but after everything I've seen here I suppose it really shouldn't be.

You're popular on NPR, we get it.

Conservative Democrats aren't popular on NPR, I promise. I only have one friend there. ;_;
