Today, the following news is floating around the facebook idiot circles:
Forensic evidence emerges that European e.coli superbug was bioengineered to produce human fatalitie

So I did a google search. Only conspiracy sites (like alex jones etc) claim it to be bioengineered. I didn't read the news. But how do these people get others to convince of that to be the case?

Interesting how this dude writing the article seems to overlook the possibility of carriers who are naturally immune to the e.coli strains, such people/animals do exist. It is therefore possible that these people/animals can and do encounter antibiotics for other medical conditions and continue to pass the emergent bug on.

Both animals and people can be carriers of E. coli without showing signs of illness. They can then spread the bacteria to foods, surfaces or other people.
