Level: 10 CS Original | I started a topic at the JREF based on some truther on youtube claiming that molten metal isn't expected in a fire. http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?t=210774 It turns out it went better than I ever hoped for. Not only did I receive several professional sources that talk about molten metal being expected in fires and how that would happen, someone called Fizzard posted various news reports before and after 911 that not only showed that molten metal was common in fires, but that people reported seeing molten and melted "steel" all the way back to the 60s (using Google Archive). Now whether they really saw steel doesn't matter, the point is they reported it as steel, just like on 911. So next time someone says that reports of molten metal and moltel steel on 911 is strange, you now you what to tell them. ... that and thermite couldn't possibly explain it but there's so many ways truthers are wrong its hard to know where to start

Hybrid Level: 2 | Really good thread. I can't imagine why people wouldn't expect to see any melted metal in a building fire. We used to melt cans and bottles by tossing them into our camp fire and they were just wood fires.
