![]() There ARE more sluts in public schools. Shut up and let me explain. Level: 8 CS Original | @scitops, I think it's a sort of cop out, because every single example of complete laissez-faire in history ends up being ruled by someone, typically with an iron fist. Libertarians and anarcho-capitalists claim they can have a near-utopia where every single social transaction is 100% free (as in free will, not free pizza). If you point out any failures in this logic, it's because the examples aren't "true capitalism," and further more they also blame outside states, meaning that they need the entire world to be transformed for their experiment to ever be considered valid on their terms. If laissez-faire works, why do nations become superpowers with more government involvement in the economy, not less? How can one claim a social contract is voluntary when one is forced to work for food and water? Is anyone that isn't white and privileged naive enough to believe that "well, just get a different job!" is a reasonable response to the master-slave scenario that the voluntary social contract theory seems to lead to? It's an ideology, and almost religion, there's no arguing with them, they're always right. Always.

![]() Level: 4 CS Original | Oh the person I am talking to is a lawyer which makes it difficult to argue with him. He loves to tell people if we all just understood economics, we'd all be like him. Interestingly he claims to have taught economics at a community college, though he said he never used the textbooks because they didn't teach economics correctly. I heard his Somalia argument before in college from the crackheads in the libertard club. However they were crackheads and were easy to poke holes in their claims.

![]() Paid Disinformation Blogger Level: 14 CS Original | I think libertarianism is a very immature and unrealistic political philosophy. It's wanting to have your cake and eat it too, and then throwing a fit when told you don't get to have both. If a libertarian ever attains a position of significant power in the U.S., it's the end of the country, because they will either destroy the economy inadvertently, or destroy the government deliberately, or (more likely) both.

![]() Life's Too Short Level: 1 CS Original | ""I think libertarianism is a very immature and unrealistic political philosophy. If a libertarian ever attains a position of significant power in the U.S., it's the end of the country, because they will either destroy the economy inadvertently, or destroy the government deliberately, or (more likely) both."" While I do agree to an extent, the same could be said for all extreme's on the political compass so to speak(Be it totalitarian or full libertarian). But this would always depend on how far your ideals go on economic and social issues. Ron Paul for example, is too extreme. Which is why he'd never be electable. That being said, we still live in a republic. A democracy. A libertarian in any kind of power would have too many hurdles to go before he could legitimately destroy the government.
