I can't stop posting pictures of poop, what the fuck is wrong with me? Level: 5 CS Original | Just wondering if anybody had any thoughts on this as far as which Fast Food chains have good service, which ones they don't think do great service, How to enhance a Fast Food Chain service, or talk about whatever. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX I was sort of playing around the idea and I think Fast Food Restaurants should pay their employees by commission. Commission in this sense meaning that employees still get standard raises but also they get paid extra which is determined by the amount of people who come in and how much is being made. Based on the total amount earned a employees would make a certain percentage extra onto their paycheck. To determine how much a employees makes extra would depend on a lot of factors including hours worked, amount of business coming in when hours worked, employees position, among other factors. This would give employees a stake in the company so to say. This would also give them more of a incentive to do quality work as well as promote the establishment they work at to get more business to make more money. It's also important to note that I recognize that they get paid by amount of business coming at a particular time when employee works. By recognizing this it gives the employee incentive to work the busy hours as it will reflect their work they put in to their paycheck. I'd also recommend that the drive thru's be automated more meaning you order and pay through a machine rather than a person. This would go for inside purchases as well. This would also be less face time with the customer until they actually get their food and yes that's a good thing for the customer and for the employee. You'd save money on having a cashier do the same process as well as not having a person accountable as it be a machine. It saves time and less mistakes in the end. I've really thought about owning my own fast food restaurant someday at which I'd implement such things into it. I think employers need to keep their employees happier with incentives. Yes, I understand that the employees have a job and that they should be thankful but lets up the stakes and give incentives to employees to keep the quality of work up as well as keep them happy or try too. I'm sure CyborgJesus or someone can point out the name of the model I'm referring to when I describe my commission based pay system.

Level: 3 CS Original | The idea of an automated drive thru is interesting, but I can see problems arising with people who are a bit slow with computers and don't know how to order their food (the elderly come to mind). Although KFC's drive thru is horribly slow anyway (Micky D's and Burger King are pretty fast) Inside supermarkets here they have started to get self serve checkouts, where people scan all their items and pay themselves using the machine and it gives them the correct amount of change and they are generally easy to use and often quicker than waiting in line at the checkout. Inside a restaurant this would work well I think and just being able to pick the items you want to order and then having the machine print out a receipt with a number on it that the employees would call out when your meal is ready, would streamline the process alot. A positive is that it would be difficult to get your order wrong (as long as the kitchen staff don't mess it up, although it seems most of the time it is the person taking the order who gets it wrong; you can tell by checking the receipt)

I can't stop posting pictures of poop, what the fuck is wrong with me? Level: 5 CS Original | ^ Wouldn't be to hard for to implement automated drive thru's. Banks already implement automated drive thru's with no problem. It may be a lot easier for the elderly to make a order or the design of a typical automated machine taking orders can be revised.

There ARE more sluts in public schools. Shut up and let me explain. Level: 8 CS Original | Haven't you seen idiocracy? The walk-up fast food ATM is hilarious. Fuck you, I'm eating. Here, though, as far as service goes, McDonald's is really good.

I can't stop posting pictures of poop, what the fuck is wrong with me? Level: 5 CS Original | ^ Haven't seen that yet but I will make a effort to now. I enjoy McDonalds service I don't get why when their building a new McDonalds they have two drive thru spots to place a order now. How does the drive thru employee keep track of orders? I enjoy Burger King's service more even if the particular atmosphere is of pulling teeth to get anything done. It feels that one can speak their mind without the employee's taking it to seriously.

There ARE more sluts in public schools. Shut up and let me explain. Level: 8 CS Original | I don't know, we don't do that here. The one time I saw that in the US though, the people just confused us with another car, so it seemed pointless and stupid.

Level: 3 CS Original | Here they always have two sections of the drivethru to place orders, but only one is ever used for some reason.

I can't stop posting pictures of poop, what the fuck is wrong with me? Level: 5 CS Original | LOL I don't think I explained it good enough but a older style MCDonalds at a drive thru has 1 place to order, 1 place to pay, and 1 place to receive food. The new style McDonald's drive thru has 2 spots to order, 1 spot to pay, and 1 spot to receive food. Not sure why McDonald's wants two places to order just seems a bit much. I think the second one is so the government can spy on us since I can't seem to find any other logic for it; that must be it.

Level: 2 CS Original | I think they should do away with drive thru's altogether they are bad for the environment. On a side note, I think fast food workers are under paid for the crap they have to deal with (yeah I was one). It makes me mad when former waitresses complain about people not tipping high enough when fast food workers never get tips and usually have to put up with crap like drunk people wanting to fight you, kids losing their poopie diaper in the ball pit and having to clean up number 2 in the urinal (no joke all those thing have happened multiple times).

That sounds like something based on Marx's labor theory of value. I don't know if it would work, considering multiple people can be involved with taking an order, and others involved with putting the whole order together. So, how do you calculate commission without completely changing how the system of the restaurant itself works?

I can't stop posting pictures of poop, what the fuck is wrong with me? Level: 5 CS Original | ^ That's interesting, I kind of figured their would be a model that came somewhat close to what I described but I wasn't sure. It may be possible but all the real number crunching would be back end work.
Considering the amount of staff that's on the floor at any one time is definitely a factor I have not considered yet and it should be consider. I think that could be added into consideration when factoring commission pay and I don't think it wouldn't be to hard to figure out since a employee has to clock in and out. I wrote out this big long thing on commission pay but decided not to post it up here as it's lengthy if you want a copy of what I have I'll PM it to anybody interested just shoot me a PM. I'm shooting ROX a PM right now. If you want to discuss what I sent in PM just post it up in here or we can chat in PM. It's not really that elaborate as of yet.

Level: 0 CS Original | Commission usually works when you're actually selling something, so it may not work for all fast food transactions, but for selling certain packages, that might be a way to do it. When I was in high school, I worked briefly in a Loews theater. One of the thing Loews did (at least back then, I'm not sure if they still do it now or if any other chains do it) is sort of a limited commission based on up-selling. How it worked is you would get commission if you sold certain package deals on concession. So if someone wants to buy a small popcorn, you ask them if they'd like the package that comes with a tub of popcorn no normal person could theoretically consume half of on their own (at least outside America) and a drink or two. When you sold these packages, you got commission. FYI in Japan, some of the most gorgeous young women work at McDonald's. If they asked me to go from something on the dollar menu to a higher priced package meal, I'd probably do it.
