This is something that's been bugging me for a while....

So I'm always seeing these "Buy Fresh Buy Local" bumper stickers on peoples' cars in the trendier areas of the city, and I found myself wondering where these bumper stickers were manufactured. Surely the people pushing this viewpoint would use a sticker manufacturer that's local, right?

Well, I'm not so sure about that. Even with my admittedly awesome Google searching abilities, I have been unable to locate the manufacturer of these stickers. So I decided to call one of the distributors and ask them directly.

Problem is: They didn't know either. So I've left my cell phone number with the distributor and they are supposed to call me back when they learn the answer to my question.

I must admit, I'm a little surprised that people pushing a "buy local" viewpoint wouldn't know where their advertising is being manufactured.

Will update this thread if and when I get a call back from the distributor.

You can buy them on your local internets:

They are not made where I live if I buy it from there.

Got a call back, he does not know where the materials for printing the stickers comes from.

Interesting!

Waiting for a call from another sales rep.

After speaking with a third sales rep, the information I've received is as follows:

All stickers, including materials used to produce them, are made in Kansas.

I'm satisfied that this information is correct, but I must admit I was hoping they were made in China or something as that would be more amusing.

Case closed.

Just because they're printed and cut in Kansas, doesn't mean the plastics and so forth weren't made in China. I know they said they were made in Kansas, but I don't buy it. I don't have any evidence, just saying. I'm "JAQing-off" if you will.

I asked if the vinyl along with the other materials were made in the Kansas plant, the sales rep dude said yes.

Here in Canada as far as I've heard anyway....as long as more then 50% of the manufacturing costs are spent in Canada then you can say its made in Canada..........
So you can spend $5 making and paying for wages to make a toaster oven in china, as long as you spent more then $5 doing something else to it in Canada like hiring someone to add the knob to the toaster you can then say its made in Canada.
