You might have thought that Phil Moffett's giant graphic on his homepage, complete with thermometer, asking for help in raising $300,000 in his "Money Bomb" the past two days was an indication that he... you know, was actually trying to raise up to $300,000.

But after he wound up raising only about $10,000, upping his campaign's total to just over $80,000, campaign manager and Tea Party comic David Adams informed us that this is far from the truth. You see...

David Adams, Moffett’s campaign manager, said the campaign had not set a goal for the effort but the $10,000 total was about what he expected. He said a request on the campaign’s Website asking to “Help us raise $300K!” was not a goal for the event.
Of course it wasn't! Only a statist who's a slave to the nanny state would think that. Silly government-think, and such.

But don't worry, there's plenty of time to make that $300,000. In fact...

Adams said the campaign is already making plans for another “money bomb” later this month.
