 Level: 3 CS Original | Iodine-131 has a half life of 8 days. When an atom of this isotope decays, it emits a gamma ray and an electron to become an isotope of the gas xenon. It doesn't justify the "On the Beach" doomsday talk promoted by the media. | |||||
