But didn't talk to him directly. I went into a restaurant to try and get a burger real quick to take out, as I had an evening meeting and needed food. However, there was one lady manning the cash register and taking orders out to customers. Near the cash register, there was a guy talking. I heard him mention the following things while I was waiting :

-2012
-HAARP
-current happenings in Japan
-the above being revenge for Pearl Harbor
-9/11 and oil (I'm assuming he thought 9/11 was an inside job, it was loud so I couldn't hear everything he said)
-the Chile Earthquake for oil (wtf?!)
-evil politicians

I'm surprised he wasn't wearing a tin foil hat.

So anyway, waiting and waiting, trying to drown this guy out. Eventually, it got to the point that I couldn't stand listening to him, and I was still waiting to place an order after 10 minutes, so I just left and got pad thai across the street and went to my meeting.

So yeah. A real life CTer. Woohoo.

Was he just randomly ranting to people in the restaurant?

@Chris - no, I didn't have the time. I just wanted to get some food and get out to get where I needed to go, I wasn't going to get suckered into debating a woo-wooer.

@Ez - that is EXACTLY what he was doing.

"Was he just randomly ranting to people in the restaurant?"

I've had this happen to me while grocery shopping before. A man turned to me, totally random and started ranting about how he didn't necessarily dislike black people, he just wanted to know what they stood for.

People like that are fishing for a sympathetic ear.

Suggesting that all black people stand for the same idea is beyond stupid. Just like not all white people are raving christian fundamentalists.

I didn't bother trying to reason with him. He had the crazy eyes.
