For example: On April 22, Celebrate Exploit-the-Earth Day The Haitians followed this advice by deforesting their side of Hispaniola, which has resulted in catastrophic flooding and soil erosion every time that country gets heavy rain. The Dominicans on the other side of Hispaniola have preserved their forests, by contrast, and they seem to enjoy a materially better life. | |||||
