So I'm on the way to work with my girlfriend this morning and we were talking about names and I said "If I give my child an uncommon name, I'm gonna give him something cool that can't be mistaken for anything else. Like Apollo; after Apollo Creed, the first man on the moon."
After a strange look, I give her an explanation that I know it wasn't Apollo Creed and that it was a line from the Simpsons. She turns to me and says "I don't think Neil Armstrong walked on the moon."
After laughing at her hysterically, I asked her why she thought that, to which she replied "I just don't think that there was enough evidence that they did land on the moon and the evidence that they do have looks dodgey."
I proceeded to ask her if she thought 9/11 was an inside job or that the Jews were out to get us but she said no, its just the moon landing.
So I ask you... What now?

Give her some reading. There are links around this site. There's one I remember being really useful about the moon landing. I'll dig it up for you later.

Thanks Wolf! I quizzed her as to why she thinks its fake and here's what I got...

"there isn’t an actual reason why"

"I just stated that some of the footage I have seen looked a bit dodgy that’s all. Feel free to enlighten me on the subject."

...and she has agreed to watch the episode of Bullshit about it.

So I guess there is still hope

Dr Omni-Science - Can you please tell me if woo is sexually transmitted? Do I have anything to worry about?

Did you use a condom laced with anti-woo gel?

Unfortunately omni, I used a condom but I (foolishly) let her use her own woo goo instead of an anti-woo gel. I haven't started to believe in any woo yet but I am having dizzy spells and feel a bit drained. Diagnosis?

Have you made her look at the site I posted, listen to skeptic's stuff (the Conspiracy Skeptic has a few episodes on the moon landing), and watch Bullshit! yet?

Not yet wolf, I dont see her again until tomorrow (Wednesday night). I thought I'd prep myself with stuff from the website you posted so that I can answer any questions she might have after watching bullshit... if Penn & Teller can't convince her, I don't know what will.

Although I am more worried about any potenial sexually transmitted woo diseases I may have caught.

Don't worry too hard about that.

Inside Job, check the Conspiracy Skeptic, if you do podcasts. He's also got a website (http://www.yrad.com/cs/) with show transcripts. He's got at least two about the moon landing. Check other skeptic podcasts as well...SGU, Skepticality, etc. I'm still working through my backlog of many skeptic podcasts and I'm not sure if others have addressed the moon landing specifically, but it may be worth it to check.
