I don't have a bad point of view of them. I'm just asking what others think of them on here.

My serious view - Community service organization for grown men, both direct service and donating to charities.

Snarky view - what college frat boys join after graduation.

No matter what - not what CTers think they are.

Agreed. But, what are perks in becoming a mason. I never understood.

Everybody can join the freemasons so it's not as exclusive as to the skull and bones where one must be apart of Yale and they have sub groups one can join once they go through the 3 stages of masons and become a master mason. They have weird little hats and seem to be a group that is global from all parts of the world. This group also seems to be around for a very long time.

The perks of the Freemasons can be of course business perks and to be well connected within their own community. Basically where people get together and have fun, and do humanitarian aid. I had a thread about the Feeemasons.

Thanks^ another thing I've never understood is why they get depicted as being a part of the "illuminati".

I thought about joining the Freemasons seems like a lot of medical professionals are in the Freemasons in that a sub group called Shriners is very interesting to me.

Getting more in-depth about the Illuminati connection. You have to keep in mind the Freemasons have sub groups people can join but one must be a Freemason of the highest level before they can join the subgroups. I heard from somebody that their is a Illuminati branch within the Freemasons they said it may be under a different name now something like "Enlight" or "Enlightened" is what they call themselves now in the Freemasons sub groups. They did have a website somewhere on how to join I just can't find it now so I cannot verify the claim so don't take it as fact about the Illuminati being a subgroup in the Freemason. The Enlightened group seems to be a research and education group from what I'm told.

While I'm at it I'll knock out the BilderBerg which the rumor mill is that it's a off shoot of the FreeMasons but does not require FreeMason membership to join. Started up in the 1950's and was made because people were worried about the USA and Western Europe lack of collaboration on problems of major importance. From My understanding the BilderBerg is a exclusive group to join and you have to be invited to such a group. They allow certain people to sit in on meetings as well from what I hear as invited guest and that doesn't require membership.

Is the only reason you didn't join is becuase you believe in a god? And for the stuff on the bilderberg, thank you! Here's a site that helped me understand the masons a little more. www.masonicinfo.com Ive been thinking of joining when I'm of age but I'm not quite sure yet.

Also, about the illuminati subgroup thing... Are you sure that has anything to do with masons? I thought the masons were just masons.

@Chris I consider myself to be spiritual but I don't want to get into that aspect in this topic as it's just my personal belief. Freemasons require a person to have "A belief in a Supreme Being" which isn't God per sey and since this is a global group with many chapters a Christian God isn't the same as a Allah God and so the vagueness in "Supreme Being" would suggest to allow room for any belief. Funny thing you mention this I've read where people have join the Freemasons believing "amino acids are the supreme being at which made life on planet earth" and that was perfectly Kosher to believe that as a FreeMason.

Chris joining the FreeMasons would connect you to some quality people. Make sure you know that you have to be well off yourself meaning you can sustain yourself and if you have a family and that you pay your taxes, car insurance and basically live well. Chris I'd say it's a opportunity to meet people and further yourself in life.

Also, about the illuminati subgroup thing... Are you sure that has anything to do with masons? I thought the masons were just masons.

I heard from a person and seen a website but I can't verify the claim at all. I suggest you try to find more information on that. FreeMasons has a few sub groups like the Shriners but I can't verify that particular claim if you or someone else can then great.

I know the Illuminati are known to be a dead group but I remember a person suggesting otherwise as well as a website but again don't hold me to it as it may more than likely be BS.

I heard there is a group out there who claim to be a continuation of the original Illuminati, although it is very small and doesn't contain any famous people or billionaires.

As with the Freemasons I were looking into them too because up till the time I came onto CS I had no clue who they were except from a few things I read in a conspiracy theory book (which of course weren't very accurate).

Joining groups, whether they be college fraternities (Skull and Bones if you go to Yale) or other fraternities such as the Freemasons is a good idea and as you said Billl can help you network and just meet new people in general.

I totally agree with your "personal belief." now I cant say this is true since I am not a mason, but as you've probably read they believe in god as "the architect of the universe." but once again I can't say it's 100% true since it just says so on the site. But the guy who runs the site is a mason.

@EZ when you say continous group of the illuminati, you're saying that knowing the original illuminati pretty much had nothing to do with the way it's portrayed today right?
