Just wanted to vent a major frustration I'm having that, luckily, has to do with conspiracies.

My uncle Lorne was a great fella. He's funny, he's kind, he's caring, he really listens, all that good stuff. Mostly he just likes to make sarcastic jokes, kinda like me.

But ever since about a year ago, suddenly he got really, really religious, and with that came a supreme fascination with the book of Revelation. So he basically thinks the end of the world is coming and it is impossible to argue that.

He think the Bible spoke about the New World Order that the Illuminati and/or Freemasons are setting up. And he told me all the Presidents have been in on it, except the ones who were assassinated. Also evolution is a lie and carbon dating is unreliable.

So this is all he talks about now. And I can't hang out with him for more than ten minutes without him spewing this nonsense. Either I sit and listen to him rant or I ask him to stop and he gets angry. It's infuriating and depressing.

Anyway, that's all. Thanks for reading.

Ask him if I can have his money and clothes after he is raptured.

Another Christian obsessed with Revelations and the end times?

*Sigh.*

Seems fundamentalist Christianity and believing in NWO/Illuminati go hand in hand.

I know your pain.

I would suggest reading up on some debunking sites and when he starts flapping his gums again, just counter his points with what you've learned. He may not believe you, but there's a chance he may at least stop.

^Aye, but be careful with how you present it. Apparently debunking sites are influenced by Satan. I've been told that before.

^No. Even in Christianity, there is a difference between Satanists and Atheists. :p

Dunno if you want that. I'm sure there are plenty of Satanists who prescribe to CTs, if not more-so that many Christians. ;)

I tried debunking him. Every time I present evidence against something, he just moves on to something else. He's got an infinite list of insane topics to babble about, and I just don't want to waste my time debunking every single claim. I have other things I want to do.

But for the record, he's also in the "academia-is-just-one-giant-ball-of-conformism" crowd, so if I quote an expert, it's automatically tossed out.

I know how you feel. My dad believes in evangelical christian end times woo and thinks the world will end within 7 years. He also believes his ex gf is stalking him and contacting every single person he meets (he was in prison a while back and though they had cameras in his cell on his ex's orders). Although its not really a CT but its in the same ball park as nothing you say will make him stop believing it.

hey something that has always caught my interest is the biblical inaccuracy's most revelation CT's have. Have you tried going that route in the debunking, I could help you out with links and stuff.

I have a feeling their are going to be many mass suicides on 2012 when "the end" doesn't come. I think it's fine if you wants to believe in whatever but when he imposes those beliefs onto you in what sounds like a daily bass that's a problem.

It makes me sad to see people like this, mostly because people who become religious yet fixate on the book of revelation are really missing the point of what it means to be Christian.

I don't know about mass suicides. I don't think that will happen.

Although you've just inspired me come up with a new, really cool conspiracy theory. I'm still trying to put this into some sort of narrative, since I am pulling this out of my butt as we speak.

Here it is:

1. Mandatory vaccinations include microscopic mind-control chips.
2. On December whatever of 2012, the Illuminati button pushers at the UN headquarters will send suicide commands to the mind-control chips.
3. This will, of course, reduce the world population to 500,000 people as mandated by UN policy.
