WARNING: THE FOLLOWING THREAD IS FULL OF OVER GENERALISATION. THE VIEWS EXPRESSED ARE NOT THOSE OF INSIDE JOB.

I would like to know people's opinions on a message I received from a friend of mine that lives in Queensland (the equivalent to America's South) who is conservative and a bit of a redneck. He believes he knows the reason that American's are more highly strung and less layed back than us Australians...

"Just watched a show about the war of independence. Now I know why the seppos (Americans) are such mentalists (crazy). The poms (English) were complete bastards to them. We (Australians) just had to shoot a few abos (native Australians) to get our freedom."

Discuss.

The English weren't "complete bastards." In fact, only about a third of colonials were interested in rebelling at all. Dude needs to stop getting his history from Mel Gibson movies.

If the guy wasnt so funny to be around (as in laughing at, not with), the only reason I'd hang around him was so I could say I had a diverse group of friends. ;)
