I recently talked with some teabaggers. They all moaned that the government can do nothing right and is taking away their freedom. I pointed out that organizations like CDC have likely prevented deadly diseases from killing Americans. I even used the SARS outbreak as an example. They got mad and insisted I was insulting the people who developed treatment for SARS. I responded they deserved a lot of credit, but their research would have been for nothing if the government hadn't responded. I then went onto say that intelligent people gave us the internet, TVA (which is responsible for almost all electricity in the Ohio Valley), and perhaps even electric cars. However the government was needed to make these available to us.

Now it seems to me for all their bitching about the government, the teatards have no problem or shame about taking government money. Nevada tea party candidate Sharron Angle has worked for the government all but two years of her life. Her husband worked for the BLM and both are on a government pension and have a generous. During the past election the owner of a local Chevrolet dealership put tea party signs on the property and used his dealership for phone banking (despite the fact that he wouldn't have a dealership had GM not been bailed out). Teatards take Medicare, get disability checks, are often on a government pension, have worked for the government.

My question why aren't they ashamed of their government support? I once asked them that, and they said something about Obama forcing them to buy health insurance justified it. It didn't make a lot of sense.
