As a school psychologist, I've been fascinated in her disdain for the current educational philosophy in practice. In fact, she's the reason I found this place. I've tried to walk in her shoes to see why she has such a problem with how we do things today. I'm starting to think that her Christian fundamentalist views are getting in the way of reality.

I've spoken directly with her and have reviewed some texts from the early 20th century, and I'm not done yet.

We communicated through email. I don't have the emails anymore, though. She used a flawed argument to prove America is more illiterate today than in the past and then criticized me for not reading her book (which I did) when I questioned her.

Why does she use pictures that are like thirty years old to represent herself on the Internet? Is she worried that people will think she's a senile old bat if she shows her real age?

Wolf, she pointed out (as she has done many times in various articles) a test some student took in the 1950s that was relatively difficult. Because this one student scored well in the 1950s, this is some how proof that we are more illiterate today.

So, because she included a quote from CS Lewis, who was not a kook, Iserbyt isn't a kook.

She sets it up perfectly by saying that good always prevails, but we can't sit on our butts. So, if she's wrong, it's because good prevailed. But, until there's absolute proof that Soviets aren't controlling America, she can't be proven wrong.
