In his final efforts to drive me insane before he leaves, my lunatic room mate suggested something entirely new to me: Sacred geometry. Something I can only imagine is just more paganistic bullshit of Harry Potter.

"The strands of our DNA, the cornea of our eye, snow flakes, pine cones, flower petals, diamond crystals, the branching of trees, a nautilus shell, the star we spin around, the galaxy we spiral within, the air we breathe, and all life forms as we know them emerge out of timeless geometric codes.

The designs of exalted holy places from the prehistoric monuments at Stonehenge and the Pyramid of Khufu at Giza, to the world's great cathedrals, mosques, and temples are based on these same principles of sacred geometry.

As far back as Greek Mystery schools 2500 years ago it was taught that there are five perfect 3-dimensional forms - the tetrahedron, hexahedron, octahedron, dodecahedron, and icosahedron ... collectively known as the Platonic Solids; and that these form the foundation of everything in the physical world."

His method was to print out some colorful arranged shapes then have me put it under my pillow when I'm asleep and it will give me some kind of higher consciousness.

Just to piss him off I think I will call it witchcraft.

Well if your roomie wasn't so flowery and such a new ager about it, he would actually know that there is some relevance of geometry when applied to the universe.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fibonacci_number</p>

This generate the spiral shape that we see repeated again and again in nature. The proportions of our body also follow the fibonacci sequence.

Some physicists have been working on complex geometries that can predict undiscovered sub atomic particles such as E8.

Or Nissam Haramein's work on the geometric shape of the vacuum (I'll save you the suspense, he thinks it is a 64 point series of tetrahedrons). Unfortunately as fascinating as his work is and he did get published in the American institute of Physics...

http://scitation.aip.org/dbt/dbt.jsp?KEY=APCPCS&Volume=1303&Issue=1

(Scroll down, page 95. "The Schwarzschild Proton")

He also believes in ufo's, ancient alien ancestors and crop circles are their attempts to communicate with us. So a bit of a paradox.

All he got published was the proceedings of a conference he was at. The AIP will publish details of any conference, no matter how bizzare. Haramein's 'work' didn't get near a peer-reviewed journal at the AIP or anywhere else. Discussion at JREF here:

The only place Nissam Haramein's name comes up in is the fringe. He is a complete joke and a huckster who appeals to acid casualties.

That 8-dimensional rotation of E8 was so trippy.
