This isn't what you want to have happen when you're the public face of the biggest social networking site:

"Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook page has been hacked by an unknown person who posted a status update suggesting that the site should let people invest in it rather than going to the banks. The page belonging to the 26-year-old Zuckerberg, the Facebook founder who was named Time's Man of the Year in 2010, was hacked some time on Tuesday." (The Guardian)

TechCrunch, which was on the story quickly, says this message was posted:

"Let the hacking begin: If facebook needs money, instead of going to the banks, why doesn't Facebook let its users invest in Facebook in a social way? Why not transform Facebook into a 'social business' the way Nobel Price winner Muhammad Yunus described it? http://bit.ly/fs6rT3 What do you think? #hackercup2011"

Facebook hasn't commented on this yet. The message, though, is gone.

Information about the hack and a little bit of tracing thats been done on it.

It leads to a few different areas, such as some wiki edits, a department of defense IP and an internet security company.

Interesting read anyway.

Maybe off topic, but what did you all think of "The Social Network"? I thought it was a thoroughly mediocre film, and I can't believe it's favored to win all those Oscars.

@Muertos that a documentary film about the maker of facebook? If so I decided not to watch even when I had a chance to watch. It's really dumb and I don't think facebook is that much of a revolutionary idea even if Obama mentioned it as such in his speech.

It's not a documentary film, Billl, but sort of a dramatization of the creation of Facebook. I don't know how much liberty was taken with the story, but as a movie I thought it was kind of lackluster.

I did a review here:

I'd never heard of this film.

But after reading Sean's review its pretty obvious I probably wouldn't like it. I'm not good at suspending disbelief, which might explain why I dislike movies in general.
