 Genuine American Monster Level: 70 CS Original | Holy shit, lesson fucking learned. TPM featured Maher's commentary about how the founding fathers would have hated the teabaggers guts. I dared to point out that painting the founders with a monolithic brush to justify an opinion was no better or no more accurate than what the teabaggers do. I pointed out that the founders were a diverse group of people, with diverse opinions and really didn't agree with each other on much at all. I also threw in Maher's science denialism to add oomph to my argument that he was an ideological bomb thrower who does not base his opinions in reality. I won't do that again. Wow. I even got called a teabagger. I think perhaps I am too skeptical for TPM's comment fields. Perhaps I need to stick to NPR and BBC. | |||||
