I'm more annoyed that this will be extrapolated to the rest of us conservatives than anything else.

If there exists an iota of intelligence in the Tea Party they'll do their best to distance themselves from such idiots.

I'm sure many if not most tea party folks are genuinely angry or upset for legitimate reasons... these haven't been the easiest of times after all; but I think it's pretty clear that there are members who's primary qualm with the federal government is that there's a black face on it.

It's just as black as it is white, but you're probably right, there was never this much ardent opposition toward BIG GOVERNMENT during the Bush administration.

Tea Parties are a diverse group. Some are individuals truly concerned with the way the country is headed and want the best for everyone, some are conspiracy theorists who want to use them to elect Ron Paul president, some are Republicans simply mad that McCain didn't win, some are racists, some are people who want to use the movement for personal gain.

My belief is it will be considered fringe as more extreme elements take it over and wind up like the John Birch Society or worse the Perot movement and die out.

The problem is that tea partiers fundamentally delude themselves about what they think they're protesting. They're not really protesting taxes, big government, health care or spending. They're protesting that conservatives no longer control government, and liberals do.

Considering that if they continue on this path they'll split the Republican party and ensure Democratic governance for the next 25 years, I have no problem with them continuing to do so.

I would like to say that the passage of the health care bill might cause more radical members of the Tea Party movment to turn to violence. They might decide working within the system doesn't work and try more radical approaches.

I wonder if I'm the only conservative who thought that death panels were a good idea.

End-of-life treatment is such a waste of money.
