From my argument over here: http://www.thezeitgeistmovement.com/joomla/index.php?option=com_kunena&Itemid=99999&func=view&catid=231&id=235966&limit=10&limitstart=80

I was told:

"We will never be able to promote TVP without some attachment to a conspiracy film so it's a waste of time discussing that. "

:D

I guess its the truth though, Peter Joseph will never shake off the Zeitgeist movies utter mistakes and fabrications no matter how hard he tries to distance him self and seperate the movement from it.

Not while there are people like this group and othrs about who have been involved in it and are making sure noone forgets.

Great posts Ed, they're fantastic.

As per that guy:

>> Yeah well he's not made of stardust, I don't care if he's perfect; just good enough for the job at hand.

To be a smart ass, I have to point out that we're all made of stardust, that is the previous start that exploded and made way for our sun and solar system. Oh snap!

>> We will never be able to promote TVP without some attachment to a conspiracy film so it's a waste of time discussing that.

That really does say it all, both how naive they are, how they'll destroy their own movement, and also how they'll peak in numbers because of conspiracy theories.

You're right Ed, I did love that.

I don't expect Merola to be perfect, I just expect him to own up to his mistakes like every adult does instead of this navel gazing New York hipster guru act he puts on.

Zeitgeist kids are so quick to point out errors in society, religion, government, etc and absolutely demonize them for it, but Merola's streak of being wrong about everything is never mentioned. When it is, they ignore it or rationalize it.

"WHERE IS THE TAPE? I'm just getting angry now. DEBUNKING THIS NONSENSE IS A WASTE OF TIME."

I can totally see this douchebag typing this with white knuckled fury because Ed won't stop proving him wrong.

Thanks guys,

It seems the "admin" have closed both threads (and the "9/11 New Information") now saying it has nothing to do with the Movement. :D At least the last posts there were mine.

Lets see if they lock every 911 truth poster who tries to start up another thread.

I like the comment that happened in this thread:

http://www.thezeitgeistmovement.com/joomla/index.php?option=com_kunena&Itemid=99999&func=view&catid=60&id=237513

A user called jamesmcm said:

--------

"Speaking of this, there seems to also be some issues in the IRC.

The question is, are we willing to ban people because they keep spreading insane conspiracy theories and won't see sense? I think we should because these people are really stymieing the movement.

We need to decide when it has reached the point that we need to move these people on. And take a no tolerance approach to any insane theories without evidence, in both the IRC and the Forums."

---------

In response someone says...

--------

"Conspiracy?
People were attracted to this site because of conspiracy.
...
Again, I've stated before, not such an inviting attitude; especially when it is "fringe" information that draws a lot of the websites users over."
- Andrizzle

----------

An opinion that Peter and the main admin agree with and that is why they will fail... more.

The person who closed the thread said:

"This thread has gone on long enough. It has no relationship to TZM and the constant back and forth bickering is simply distracting from real issues."

What a joke. What real issues is he talking about, oh right they have a Resource Based Economy™ to plan. I wonder what kind of future these people would create where if you challenge them, they end the discussion.

The only way the Zeitgeist Movement/Venus Project becomes viable is by expelling Peter Merola and changing the name of the whole thing. That will never happen. Even if Merola and Fresco had a falling-out, it seems far more likely to me that Fresco would be the one departing and Zeitgeist would continue with all its conspiratorial baggage, except now having hijacked the Venus Project too.

I'm going to disagree and say that if it wasn't for the conspiracy stuff, they would be even less significant. By using conspiracy theories in the movie they have been able to grab the attention of people who are already dissatisfied and a bit nieve. I'd bet that a large percent of the people who signed up as members don't even care that much about Fresco and just joined because the movie was "telling the truth".

Without the conspiracy angles they have absolutely nothing. None of those self absorbed kids would give two shits about Fresco and his stupid drawings if not for the conspiracy angle. The conspiracy angle is the bait; it has all the answers that confused and angry young white males seek.

Since Merola's movies tell "the truth" and Merola has endorsed Fresco, Fresco must also be telling "the truth." Without Merola's "truth," I doubt very many of them would care about Fresco's "truth" or his retarded igloo at all. They would probably mock his drawings and ideas for the corny, ironic-future things they are.

I agree with Sky on this one.

From what I understand, Fresco owns a ton of acres down there that do absolutely nothing. All this time and he hasn't used any of that land for anything more than the stupid igloo thing.

@Sky: yes, I agree, I think a significant portion of the ZM membership only joined because of conspiracy theories, and couldn't care less about some old fart and his future city designs that will never be built anyway. Did not mean for my post to suggest otherwise.
