I hadn't started out to do this. A poster posted something about direct democracy and another guy George, our resident troll, jumped all over the idea, so I got into it with him. Then the original poster posts the "no-plane" theory regarding the Pentagon. I was like WTF? Talk about unrelated. So I wait for George, who pisses on every idea that anyone has ever posted, to do what he does best. But he gives it a pass with "The first post was weak and ill-considered. This post, which has a good information, has nothing to do with the first."

I was in shock. George was a truther. Think of this guy like an older crankier Matt, is well versed in political history and philosophy and generally a big a-hole to everyone, like Matt, just worse (sorry Matt). I couldn't believe it. So I went ahead and debunked the truther myself. It wasn't that hard. I guess something snapped inside.

Then George comes back and replies in defense of the Truther!

If anyone would like to have some fun, this guy is tenacious in everything he does. He doesn't give up, and will continue to post even when he is losing. And he gets pretty colourful when he gets mad.

I'm going to compose a reply to his last post, but to give respect where respect is due, you guys are the experts when it comes to debunking 9/11.

Good job!

Now if you can debunk Zeitgeist and the Venus Project, you might be redeemable.

The Craigslist rants and raves section is usually nothing but trolls trying to out-troll each other. It's hilarious.

@ Muertos

I'm afraid I am not that redeemable. You'll have to settle for me debunking the "no-plane" or "space weapon" or "nanothermite" conspiracies. I think it is perfectly acceptable to believe that the US gov't took advantage of the terrorist situation to advance their agenda and if it wasn't 9/11 it would have been some other terrorist strike. So not an inside job, but certainly the gov't was tossed a freebie. Never let a good disaster go to waste.

Someone was suggesting on the forums that VTV should interview Icke or Maxwell and I had replied that to do so would undermine any credibility we have gained. The poster was somewhat offended and pointed out that Maxwell was used as a reference for Zeitgeist. This was right after someone had posted a audio clip of Maxwell describing how he had cornered a mini-T-Rex in his garage.

Poster: those stairs

~facepalm~ I have my limits. I still support TZM and TVP but I'm not going to put up with that other nonsense that is trying to infect the movement.

What do you mean infect the movement? That's one of the movement's main recruiting tools.

@ Matt

I don't see any Truther stuff on the forums, and very few references to the first movie. If you know of any active threads about 9/11 on the TZM forums, please link them here and I will go and debunk them.

I look at the first movie as one of those episodes in life when you get really drunk and do something that is half funny and half asinine, that people will talk about for good or ill for a long, long time. That is the thing about first impressions, they stick and they are hard to get rid of.

I am hoping after January 15th that the movements main recruiting tool is the new documentary.

This was the truther's reply:

http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/van/pol/2154331324.html</p>

He accuses me of not having any evidence of any wreckage, when in the links there is photographic evidence of the wreckage of the plane that hit the pentagon.

I am composing another reply to refute his latest barrage of factoids.

TeeZedem if you want to get into Technocracy more power to you. But please realized that Peter Joseph and the Zeitgeist Movement are all about CTs. And when Jacque Fresco hooked up with them he did more to hurt Technocracy by linking it the CTs then anything. If you want to get into Technocracy here is a good place to start:
http://www.technocracy.org
But as far as the Zeitgeist Movement goes it is a sinking ship and Venus Project will be draged along with it.
Edit: In the third movie Peter Joseph stated that he is going to have Mike Ruppert another CT in it.

Joe is right.

The Zeitgeist Movement is fundamentally about conspiracy theories.

If you try to take conspiracy theories away from the Zeitgeist Movement, you're trying to do Hamlet without Hamlet, or Star Wars without Darth Vader, or environmental consciousness without respect for the environment.

After January 15th the main recruiting tool for the movement will still be conspiracy theories, just the same as it was when Zeitgeist 2 was released (and supposedly Zeitgeist 2 wasn't about conspiracies, despite the fact that it has conspiracy theories in it!)

Keep dreaming, Zeitgeister.

You are indeed unredeemable.

The new movie does feature conspiracy theories, as Mike Ruppert is in it.

Sorry TeeZee, you're full of shit.

Ok granted, I am a zeitgeister through and through, but I am working to change the character of the movement. I'm not ready to abandon it yet, it still has potential.

I am not closed to new information, I have gone from sitting on the fence about 911 truth to activey repudiating it.

The latest salvo from the truther, complete with references this time. Others are starting to post some anecdotal nonsense in support of this guy. I am one voice on the craigslist forum, if I get drowned out, I will "lose".

You can't change the character of the movement because Merola and his team of lackeys won't let you. Ed tried it. He got banned for his efforts.

The sooner you figure it out the sooner you can quit wasting your life and spend your energy in real activism groups.

TeeZedem
Nobody is saying that you give up on Technocracy. But understand that the Zeitgeist Movement and Technocracy at their cores are not the same. Technocracy was founded as a way to solve real socal problems. But the Zeitgeist Movement miss uses Technocracy; because they see it as a weapon to fight a mythical enemey. As for as Jacque Fresco goes as I said before; he should be reviled Technocracy for linking them to CTs.
Plus also in the meantime do what Matt suggest; look into other non-profits. Because unlike what Merola believes they do help out a lots. The Red Cross does more in one week then the Zeitgeist Movement has done since its founding.
