The anti-vaxx stuff is tragic, because it's a direct relationship between believing in conspiracy theories and innocent people dying, especially children.

I think that ALL conspiracy theory promoters should be ashamed of themselves--Alex Jones, Peter Merola, David Icke, Jerome Corsi, Jim Marrs--but the anti-vaccination people have actual blood on their hands. People die because of the bullshit they spread. Anti-vaxxers should be prosecuted. I believe in freedom of speech, but freedom of speech doesn't mean you have the right to say things that result directly in the deaths of innocent people.

Jenny McCarthy is a useful idiot, this is true. But Wakefield deliberately falsified research for money. A different bird in my opinion.

I just think there's a distinct difference between having a stupid opinion and lying for money.

TZM is full of anti-vaccination believers as well, which makes total sense, considering crank-magnetism.

They had a doctor on NPR today talking about the Wakefield study and some anti-vaxer woman called in and made an ass of herself, although she was too hardheaded to admit she was wrong. The doctor clearly schooled her, but he was frustrated cuz she hadn't changed her mind in the end. I think he should have gotten a little angry with her. That might have helped.

Only in the world of CT'ers can Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carey become some kind of hidden-knowledge gurus.
