Good evening to all.

I just received an email back from someone of the site regarding my questions about there being a future article on freemasonry and the conspiracies revolving around that.

Personally, being a freemason, I'd love to give a lot of info.

I do however, have a few issues.

First off, where to begin?! I mean, most people don't even know the origins of how freemasonry came to be.
I can understand that a few will spill some words about the Templars, which I guess is a good beginning, however I'd like to know what some of you think then.

Secondly, about 50% of the information I have on masonic history was written by a Freemason studying freemasonic history.

Truth be told, a lot of anti-masonry comes from The Papal Bull "In Eminenti" on 28 April 1738 from Pope Clement XII, murder of an ex-mason by 3 freemasons (I'll need to source that later) and a F*CK LOAD of booklets written about freemasons "worshiping" '']Baphomet'' during the 1800's as well. (Again, I need to source that).

Then there were the Nazi's believing them to be part of the great Jewish Conspiracy.

Anyways, I'm wondering where I should be begin, and what are some of the most heard freemasonic conspiracies you've heard before?

Well thank you Matt.

Why write anything? It's all right there uh? :-P

However, it doesn't talk about it's real origins, or such.

But yes, yes, I see something to work with here.

Then again, maybe not. I don't know.

"Why write anything? It's all right there uh?"

That wasn't the point of the link at all, it was to help give you a place to begin. By all means, write as much as you want. I hate conspiracy theories and wish you nothing but luck.

The hardest part of debunking something sometimes is figuring out where to start. The sources in that FAQ might help. Rarely do "debunkers" (for lack of a better term) come up with any original material (I don't). Mostly its just fact checking other peoples' garbage. If you want to create something original to tackle anti-Masonic conspiracy theories then you kick ass and have a much longer attention span than I do. I wish I had the self discipline to do it.

Just don't expect to convince any True Believers.

Matt my apologies for assuming your link was sarcasm. (I've been around the dutch too long, let me say that much. :-P)
Thank you.

I think I'll just start with explaining it's origins.

Past all the bullshit mytho's, it's more of a cultural and time issue than anything else.

But yeah.

There we go.

A quick look at it's origins and reasons. ACTUAL history, not just the allegories told to make it seem more mysterious. I mean, the real how it started, and why.

By the way, for anyone interested, you have the Grand Lodge of All England in York claim to have their first GrandMaster has being Prince Edwin, brother of King Atheistan of York, back in 926.
link:http://www.grandlodgeofallengland.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=39&Itemid=50 /> I've been reading on this, but these are the only ones claiming this.
They give links at the bottom, but I think this has more to do with Free Stonemasons. Builders, not the fraternity it is today.

Anyways! Then go into the conspiracies themselves.
I think that should work out.
