So how about when web citations disappear? Yeah, mirroring sites like webcitation exist, but how do we know those startups won't sink tomorrow, taking all of our citations? Well, I decided to remedy this by starting to make local backups of all off-site citations, references, sources, etc.

It does search for both page backups and screen shots, I'll always do my best to get both.

It's fairly primitive, however. You can't add your own, only I and a few others can add to the database. In fact, it's not actually a database at all, in order to keep things very simple, and hard for assholes to DDoS, it's actually just based on a hash of the URL.

This can also be used to back up regular, non-essential things, like funny posts from other forums.
