Level: 150 CS Original | The legalization didn't really solve the other crimes connected to it, it's really the Al Capone argument: when prohibition ended, did Capone get a real job? No, he just did other illegal things. The type of people who turn every issue into marijuana legalization can't wrap their heads around the fact that it won't really change much of anything other than less people being arrested for it. Criminals will always find illegal ways to make money, or ways to exploit legal things in order to make money. In Amsterdam, you also risk attracting trouble with tourists, as well and that's been a problem. It's like opening a bar and assume no one will ever get drunk and fights won't ever happen, after all, people can by alcohol why would they fight? Yeah, a big logical fallacy. | |||||

Level: 10 CS Original | Sure, but I just mean why would crime DECREASE if they banned cannabis for tourists? Surely the criminals would just pick up the new demand for the drugs, which means more crime. People would still go to Amsterdam because it would still be easy to find and locals are free to buy and posses it. I just dont see where their logic is. If there is crime because of tourism, surely there is another reason for it. And I dont see, if its legal, how cannabis can create crime? | |||||
