I have to question the Fed-haters' numeracy. If the U.S. dollar has already lost 95 percent of its alleged "value" since the beginning of the Federal Reserve in 1913, why doesn't that count as a "collapse"?

We seem to do just fine now with our "collapsed" Federal Reserve dollars in 2010. In fact, we live better now than Americans did with their pre-"collapsed" dollars in 1913.

Wow, you have to wonder about the opulence and splendor of the U.S. in 1913, before our dollar collapsed thanks to the Federal Reserve System. We must live in "Planet of the Apes" conditions by comparison.

BTW, the rhetoric implies that the dollar has depreciated at about 3 percent a year, kind of like exponential decay. I don't see any reason for a discontinuity in that trend. "Hyperinflation" to me sounds like the right's version of the global warming apocalypse.

>> But the global warming apocalypse is also from the right.

Please show me a religious right web site or article that even believes in global warming.

oh, no, it means that global warming will basically end humanity, and while I do believe in global warming, I don't think it's going to kill off humanity -- possibly millions over long periods of time due to crop failures and so forth, but not even close to all of us.

I don't understand the hysteria about $600 billion in "quantitative easing." That equals about two weeks' worth of the U.S. GDP. Every employed American could just take a two-week unpaid vacation to offset that.
