This was my recent attempt to tell a friend:

"I just think the case of flouridisation is another example of the conspiracy movement hyping something up beyond belief in order to fit their scare mongering views. The evidence for it may be mixed, and there may be reason to have a proper debate about, but it is reasonable that in an attempt to address the needs of a growing number of poor people's oral health problems, flouridation is on the table as a viable option. I do have some issues with the principle of it, and would prob vote against it in manchester, but the fact that it hasn't been made mandatory across the country is a really important point that goes to the heart of yours and others concerns.

You cant say every time the govenment doesn't do something tryrannical is because it was a battle won by the people, and use that as further evidence for NWO style population kill. There are countless laws in place designed to protect us that the massess would probably prefer not be in place. smoking ban, seatbelts, expensive alchohol, speed limits, using mobile when driving - these things are saving lives but if they went for a vote or people were left to do what they wanted, they would smoke everywhere, buy loads of booze for as cheap as possible, rarely where seatbelts and use phone while driving fast - resulting in more death. Why is the govenment insisting on laws that protect us even though as individuals we probably wouldn't do it unless there were those laws. And they are just a few of very many protective laws - not to mention the things like the welfare state and NHS, which although flawed (as every man made system will be), are saving thousands of poor peoples lives every year.

Why are these laws here??? Instead of trying to integrate these facts into your theories, you and others jump on the band wagon of every little tit bit of a story that you can use to support your ideas - like the lithium thing - which within the scientific community was known about and dismissed quickly - this is one of countless other stories that Jones and his crew scream about one day but is never mentioned again, cause it was never a 'real' issues in the first place. just fuel for the fire.

Im not saying there aren't injustices, corruption and incompetence in the world. I truly believe big business is corrupt and influences global and govenmental decision making in a way that is is not in the normal person's best interest. For example, radio 4 had a great story a few weeks ago about the WHO, who allegedly changed the criteria of a pandemic so that swine flu would meet it, therefore compelling governements to stockload tamiflue injection. The accusation being that people high up in the WHO had stakes in pharmeceutical companies so would financially benefit from this decision.

I'm sure there are countless examples of this kind of corruption, and Jones is at his best when he focuses on this - but any evidence he shows for the next layer of his conspiracy, i.e. NWO mass population kill is laughable. Bohemium Grove, denver airport etc. Infact, Jones discredits the real injustices in the world by linking them to NWO ideas.

It failed miserably...here's his response:

"the plan that has been talked abut for hundred yrs + is to have the people in such a demented state towards reality that the chance of them wanting to fight back against the systme would be unheard of it wouldnt even cross their minds. they compare it to the idea of a herd of sheep revolting against the farmer.

You may think that the idea of global government global control of every part of your life, the eradication of your rights and liberties put down to war on terror and tackling climate change is unheard of and that depopulation is also a wacky idea but Jamie ive got to tell you its real all you have to do is spend a year every day investigating and soon enough you see the truth i dont just listen to jones ive bought 4 new books recently and they are all madder than the last . If you can accept UFO technology and free unlimited energy which shouldnt be hard to accept if u look into it you can see how much is known about it, in which case u have to ask yourself why are they letting millions of people strave to death ? why the big issue with co2 from fossil suels if we dont need them why they whole climate issue if we already have the answer. the truth jamie is stranger than fiction and you will realise 1 day . I believe we should all be learing about the truth i believe we have the right to know the truth and just because some power freak devil worshiping inbred eletist think they are better than the sheeple you shouldnt lay down and accept whatever they tell you.

did you know they now want to put cameras and microphones in planes also equipment that detects unusual behaviour sweating etc . so now you have had your wife and kids naked body scanned you can have your conversation and yourselfs monitored just incase your a terorist then 4 months down the line they will set up an attack and will imose the already talked about bracellets for flight where you are tracked in real time from airport to plane to airport and if you get out of hand they can immobolise you from a cetral control unit through the bracelet , and if you think thats way out look into it they are advertising them already.

and you may say well so airports are airports well jay they use airports toincramentally test on the population to see what they can roll out on the streets and in your homes, so if you accept having your naked image stored being hit with 20x the radiation they said they were using then you are happy to be audio and visually monitored throughout your flight you will probably accpet bio cameras on the street that recognise your body scan and you will probably accept microphones on the street and in your car ( which they want to introduce ) jay the picture is very big and very nasty but the first obsticle is recognising its there and the use of floride and aspartame etc is not to kill you stone dead its to make you brain dead , dull , dosile maybe 20 yrs later you will die from cancer but that isnt the plan with the chemicals the chemicals are they to make you not care about the process that s going on today , once you wake up you see how absolute the situation actually is.

but looking at the odd issue your always gonna hear 2 sides of the story its only when you get the full picture that you see the truth. jones you may think is a fear munger but i think thats just because you dont like the message, and you can only put it down to hin wanting oil shares to go up , i think that is utterly rediculouse really to be honest.

esp when big oil is behind the new carbon industry. also how an u thin the NWO dosent exist when it has been talked about by presidents prime minister etc for decades ? such a plan would take a long time and a lot of strategic action a lot of compartmentalisation and a lot of money. it s very possible a famous quote power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutly get with it open your eyes wake up"

I think the fact that this "plan" has been going on for over 100 years speaks more to how unlikely it is, then to how likely it is.

Maybe go along with what your CT friend believes in and gradually go into more absorbed outlandish conspiracy theories as your friend believes and goes along with it then towards the end so something like google is developing mind reading technology and at the human civilization will come to a end. Then look sad and down or somewhere for a minute then say "psyche" and then go into how monkey brains are flawed and people will believe in anything even the outlandish BS just said.

Interesting idea, but I'd actually write the "I'm lying" part in a letter to be open later, it'll be sealed, he'll sign it and hide it. Lie and say it's your last will and testament or something.

Somehow CT logic doesn't quite convince me.

CT: Live your life in fear of doomsday, then fight back/die horribly when it arrives
Non-CT: Live a happy and fulfilling life, then fight back with slightly worse preparations/die horribly when it arrives

No CJ, more like this:

CT: Live your life in fear of doomsday, expecting to fight back/die horribly when it arrives, which it never will, so you keep on living your life in fear of doomsday.
Non-CT: Live a happy and fulfilling life.

I have lots of survival seeds. They are also known as "heirloom seeds." You can buy them at any WalMart.

Maybe this might work on your friend, assuming he's not a completely brainwashed "independent thinker." But the thing I've never been able to figure out is the logic of this plot. At least with David Icke's space lizards, the idea of the global elite makes more sense because they want to eat us and they live forever. But to apply it to regular humans, here's what you have to believe:

A very long time ago -- possibly centuries ago depending on who you ask, but the conservative estimate is usually at least about one century -- some very rich men got together. They said, "man, we want to be richer and we want to rule the world." So they laid out a massive plan for world domination, a plan that they would never see come to fruition because the ultimate takeover wouldn't happen until long after their deaths. This plot is to bring about a one-world government socialist police state where something like 80% of the people would be executed in a mass genocide.

Now here's where the logic falls apart -- we're talking about global elites. Big business types. So any sort of anti-capitalist, anti-free market system would be antithetical to their interests. So would mass executions. Enslaving the remaining survivors wouldn't do any good, either. A one-world government would eliminate the need for war. That means the military-industrial complex, which is so central to the NWO theories, would be eliminated.

And again, we're talking about people who initiated this plan with the knowledge that it wouldn't come to fruition until long after their death. So why initiate it in the first place? And they had such incredible foresight that they were able to plot for every single eventuality over the next century(ies), including technological advancement. I'm sorry, but there is absolutely no way a human being is that intelligent and forward-thinking.

They're incredibly intelligent, incredibly organized, but also absolutely toothless and fearful and we can overthrow and intimidate them with Alex Jones shouting at them with a bullhorn.

Perry, that logical approach would work well on real people, but we're talking about CTs here.

Logical actions and plausible motivations mean nothing to them. They'll just say you drank too much fluoridated water and are now brainwashed sheeple.

That's something I often ask people, if it's been under way for centuries, why would such evil people leave it up to the next generation to continue? Especially when people like Alex Jones say "it isn't about money, it's about power!" Well, if that's true, it's the opposite of power to give up on getting your goals accomplished to dominate the world and leave it to someone else to do it after you're dead.

Oh he's got a plan. He's a member of Take Back Kentucky. You might remember one of their members made national news: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rm50--EFlPU. His plan is to elect as many Paultards and teabaggers (like Phil "Traffic lights are a threat to liberty" Moffet). His second plan is to lobby the state government to pass laws that outlaw the NWO like outlawing REAL ID, RFID chips, etc. He also wants the state to legalize hemp (yes because they can thump their nose to the DEA). I work with this guy, he sends me this garbage all the time.

There's a disturbing trend I've noticed in the past few years, which apparently Michael Barkun has also commented on, and that is that more and more people on the left are starting to buy into Jones and other right-wing conspiracy theorists. I spent most of last night arguing with three or four different liberals who have been sucked into the world of conspiracy theories.

When they bring up the fluoridated water thing, I just laugh and remind them that I live in Japan, which doesn't fluoridate the water (and the teeth of the Japanese is proof of it).
