Plus also, as for the Rockefellers, their wealth is measured in the hundreds of millions, not even billions, and definitely not trillions. Apparently, though three dead families and primarily two old ass guys in the US have more power than the top 100 billionaires on Earth.

Nathan Mayer Rothschild, one of the richest men in the world in the early 19th Century, probably owned chests full of gold coins like the comic book character Scrooge McDuck. Yet he died from a bacterial infection in 1836 that modern medicine could cure today with antibiotics costing literally a waitress's daily tip money (a.k.a. Federal Reserve Notes).

In other words, wealth derives from the application of knowledge to resources, not from how much gold we have.

My question is the same as Muertos, basically: How does Alex Jones know they have that much money? He has to get it from some place. In other words, can you provide the evidence, other than someone's word.

That article doesn't seem to present much more than a retrospective on the history of the Rothschild family and speculation as to what they're worth now. At least it's a more reasonable speculation than anything that comes out of Alex Jones's mouth.

The rub here, Truther, is that you give us no basis to come to any conclusion regarding the information you've presented. The Rothschilds are a rich family that has historically controlled a lot of business and financial interests. Okay, fine, that's not news to anybody. What do you believe this information means, and how do you connect "the Rothschilds are rich and at least at one time were influential" to whatever conclusion you have come to about it, which I presume (correct me if I'm wrong) is, "OMG, the Rothschilds are evil JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOS who rule the world!"

How do you get from that Guardian article to that conclusion? The connection must be supported by evidence before the conclusion makes any sense.

Uh, no. Progress in medicine and technology makes these comparisons meaningless. For example, that Rothschild probably lost many of his teeth before he died at the relatively young age of 58; all the gold in his possession could not have bought a modern dental procedure in the early 19th Century. He couldn't have bought a very long list of other goods and services that ordinary people in developed countries can afford now, things which didn't even exist as ideas 200 years ago.

Oh, another interesting thing from that article:

"1887 Rothschilds funds the creation of the diamond dealers De Beers"

De Beers, being the company founded by Cecil Rhodes.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't he one of the key players in the Milner roundtable or whatever it is that's mentioned in Carroll Quigley's book? I suppose it's easy to "connect the dots" because the Rothschilds were involved in so many things, but it's hardly proof of any CT claims.
