If it was in his contract not to, then yes. Fox should not be used as a benchmark for anything, except perhaps stupidity.

Everyone acknowledges Fox's blatant bias except for Fox viewers because they honestly believe that Fox is telling them the truth. Or perhaps Fox simply tells them what they want to hear and that's enough.

Why anyone would want to hear shit like that is totally beyond me.

There was an attempt to do left-leaning talk radio but it pretty much sucked. I have no interest in sitting and listening to an echo chamber, judging by the ratings it got not many other people did either.

Because they like listening to an echo chamber.

Talk radio is basically audio editorials.

Because the Fairness Doctrine was repealed in 1987, and conservatives saw a niche market.

One of the stupidest things Obama has done was to say he's not in favor of returning the Fairness Doctrine. One stroke of the pen (it can be revived by executive order, not even legislation) and he could kill off Rush, Fox, Glenn Beck and probably a lot of CT's in one fell swoop.

No it wouldn't...because for every right winger who howls about reinstating the Fairness Doctrine, you would have to give equal time to a left-winger who thinks it's a great idea!

That's the beauty of it.

People who call Obama a socialist don't really know what it means. To them its just a "dirty word."

It would have been political suicide, just like it would be for Obama.

You can't force people to hear two sides of an issue when they only want to hear one.
