What do you make of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0fH3ohxC7c ?

A politician in the EU parlament speaking out against the Bilderberg group and Trilataral Commission as "occult groups"(?), that elect candidates for the EU presidency.

This kind of real politicians talking about this stuff always make me think, that there must to be some little bit of truth in the conspiracies... or did he just watch to much Alex Jones on youtube?

What do you make of this Edward?

Mario Borghezio is the same guy who claimed that Muslims praying was basically a way to intimidate and attack Milan, and that was a "slap in the face" for the city. Just because you're in the EU parliament doesn't mean you're not an idiot or have no idea what the hell you're talking about.

True. ;) I did not know him, so I was wondering if he was legit. But now I read up his history and he really seems to be a wierd guy. So you think its 100% bullshit that the Bilderberg Group has any influence in the election process of candidates of the EU or other institutions? (I am really looking forward to your essays about the conspiracy theories concerning the "new secret societies" Bilderberger, TLC, CFR, etc. ;)

Other question: He must have his informations from somewhere, so do you think that some political figures are actually taking guys like Alex Jones serious and may be influenced by there paranoid worldview? I mean being a politicians unfortunatly does not mean that you are equipped with critical thinking, right? So if not only 16-25 year olds get all excited about this world view were everything is planned by shadow groups, but even a grownup man ina influencial position, the work of Icke, Jones etc may be dangerous, because they are mixing truth with fantasy and even a educated person can get sucked into their ideas...
so yes my question: Do you think its likely that Mario Borghezio and maybe other consume conspriacy sites/videos and take it serious?

Well, I don't think that the EU election process is influenced by organizations like the Bilderberg group and such because it isn't a "winner take all" system like in the US for example, it's a wide range of political groupings. It would be quite difficult to get even one of the EU Parliament Groups to do what you want, much less all of them.

Sure there are some politicians who do believe in conspiracy theories, even in the US, two that come to mind are Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich, and former politician Jesse Ventura. Being a politician doesn't require any education, standards, certificate, etc. literally anyone can do it, so you're bound to get some utter morons in the mix.

Personally I find the "Bilderburg" group good, if not important.

Here's the score, you basically have different politians, business men, and even royalty meeting up at a Bilderburg hotel.

Infact, it was started by the Dutch Royalty. I think it's good, because this gives these countries and people a chance to talk, and get to know each other more, and talk openly, without worrying about the politics of the normal world looking at what they're doing or saying. Are they planning things for the future? Probably! Is it to figure out how to keep everyone down and get themselves more money? I extremely doubt it. Do I think it has more to do with the most prominent figures of the time discussing and working out how to keep good relationships with each other? Most likely. This is just like The Groove, imo. Only inter-atlantic, and more fancy with no huge stone owls.

I know of at least three members of my state legislature that have spoken at meetings of "anti-NWO groups".

You have a good point babybackribs, in much the same way the UN serves as a 'forum for the nations'.

Bilderberg was always going to be ripe for conspiracy theorists since they are so secretive. I watched a show by Ron Jonson who interviewed one of the attendees who said that some of them like showing off when they arrive at the venue with their security guards and so on because they find the conspiracy theories fun.
