Genuine American Monster Level: 70 CS Original | How many of you have ever been told by a CT that they're more "moral" than you? How many of you have ever been told by a CT that they "care" more about suffering than you? How many of you have ever been told by a CT that they are "concerned" about injustice more than you? Chances are, you all have. But its kinda funny when you ask them what charities they donate their money and time to. Its kinda funny when you ask them which candidates they have campaigned for. Its kinda funny when you ask them what exactly they've ever done to save the world they claim to care so very much about, because the answer is always the same: Not a goddamn thing.

Paid Disinformation Blogger Level: 14 CS Original | Zeitgeisters are particularly guilty of this. They really think they're saving the world, so no other acts of charity are necessary or desirable. I think it plays into the conceit of conspiracy theorists that they have "special knowledge." Because the conspiracies they claim to be uncovering are so broad-ranging and world-shaking, feeding a kid at a local homeless shelter or donating clothing or something small-scale looks petty by comparison. I sometimes use the Metallica Fan Club example. There is a chapter of the Metallica Fan Club that goes around volunteering at homeless shelters. This one single chapter of the Metallica Fan Club has done more for humanity than the entire Zeitgeist Movement.
