I often hear ctheorists say the US government doesn't follow the constitution. When you counter them with certain parts they insist that I am misinterpruting the original intent. My question is the constitution being violated today and does original intent matter?

Federal level is above the constitution.

Wrong, wrong and wrong.

All federal action is subject to the Constitution. In fact that is IN the Constitution.

In answer to your question, scitops, for the most part, yes, the federal government does follow the Constitution. Of course there are exceptions, but that's what judicial review is for. In the instances where the federal (or state, for that matter) governments do something wrong, they are subject to correction by courts at multiple levels.

CT's have as defective an understanding of constitutional law as they do anything else.

Does original intent matter? If your name is Robert Bork, Clarence Thomas or Antonin Scalia, or if you hate abortion rights, yes. To the vast majority of legal and constitutional scholars, not so much, though it is one fairly minor factor in how to interpret the Constitution.

The Constitution Today - Separation of Powers

A year after declaring independence from Britain in 1776, representatives of the thirteen states met to draft a constitution. They came up with the Articles of Confederation, but some felt this document lacked the necessary provisions for an effective government. Ten years later, delegates met again to make revisions. They drafted an entirely new constitution instead. Federal power was split between legislative, executive and judicial branches of government. A system of checks and balances was incorporated. In the first of "The Constitution Today" series, we focus on the separation of powers.

Guests
Edward Whelan president of the Ethics and Public Policy Center, a contributor to National Review Online Bench Memos blog, a lawyer and former law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.
Amanda Frost professor of law at American University Washington College of Law
Michael Quinn president and executive director of The Montpelier Foundation.

@Omni-Science

Well I don't believe in RBE, I think Peter and Fresco are con-artists, I think the venus project is laughable to call it anything but science fiction, I think Zeitgeist I and II are again both conspiracy theory movies that reflect the Zeitgeist movement and is supported by conspiracy theorist. I want to join the Zeitgeist movement to get it away from Peter Joseph, Fresco, RBSE, conspiracy theory's, and moon bases. I want people to actually doing application, and critical thinking in the current Zeitgeist cult movement that's not happening and question Peter is a bannable offence.

You're not a conspiracy theorist.
You don't believe in an RBE.
You don't worship Peter Joseph Merola.
You think Fresco is a con artist.
You think the Venus Project is laughable.
And yet you agree with the Zeitgeist Movement.

That's like saying that you don't hate blacks, favor racial equality, support civil rights, oppose cross-burning, denounce terror tactics, and look terrible in a pointy hood, and yet you agree with the KKK.

Pardon me for being confused.

You're still not gettin in. Promoting critical thinking is what got me kicked out. You're not a member unless you agree with the direction of the movement, and if you're promoting critical thinking and application, you don't agree with the direction.
