Level: 1 CS Original | Do these New World Order Conspiracy Theories have their roots in Anti Semitism and in the Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion ? I have seen many websites that say that the New World Order and the Illuminati the Bilderburg Group the Banks and the United Nations and Religion are all run by Jews.

Level: 1 CS Original | Often they do I think. The protocols are the first of the 'secret rulers of the world' conspiracy theories that I am aware of. Having said that, I'm more willing than most to cut most CT-ers some slack when it comes to anti-Semitism. None of the Ct-ers I know personally are anti-Semitic. The only exception being someone who started off on the usual CTs (moon landing, Kennedy, Atlantis etc), got into the whole 9-11 thing via Loose Change and ended up 'just asking questions' about the Holocaust and buying into the Texe Marrs 'everyone bad is secretly Jewish' thing. So I think there is an anti-Semitic dimension to the various NWO beliefs, but not everyone who believes in NWO-type CTs is anti-Semitic. Personally, I tend to give them the benefit of the doubt until they obviously demonstrate their prejudice. Having said that, anyone spending a lot of time on CT websites is going to come up against anti-Semitic theories sooner or later, and many may well come away with a 'it's all the Joos' delusion.

Level: 8 CS Original | Will according to Bill Cooper and real resurchers the Learned Elders of Zion was a smoke screen. The Jews are used as a sacrefical lamb.

Paid Disinformation Blogger Level: 14 CS Original | After World War II when overt anti-Semitism became distasteful to most people, conspiracists retooled their theories to stick to the same structure as the old Protocols/World Jewish Conspiracy theories, but with stand-ins in the place of the Jews. I don't think a lot of modern CTs realize this. When they rail against "international bankers," for example, most of them are unaware that the term "international banker" is in the 2010s the exact same place that "Jews" used to be in every theory. So true with David Icke's reptilians, which take the code-wording an insidious shade farther, by playing on the subtext (but never expressly stating) that Jews are literally cold-blooded non-humans. Most modern CTs aren't anti-Semitic, but they parrot covert and often overt anti-Semitic theories without knowing what they're really saying. I believe the main leaders of the conspiracy movement, such as Alex Jones, actually are directly anti-Semitic, but they know they have to employ subtlety and code words or else they'll alienate at least a portion of their target audience.
