Level: 5 CS Original | A buddy and I were discussing evolution at work, and one of the newer guys overheard us and proclaimed that he had proof that evolution was false. So of coarse I asked him if I could check it out. He handed me two pieces of literature, Was Life Created, and The Origin Of Life five questions worth Asking. I actually read them. What a load of garbage, logical fallacies everywhere! I noticed lots of similarities to conspiracy theories. The sad thing is anyone who doesn't have an understanding of evolution could easily be fooled by this deceptive literature. What should I tell him tomorrow when he asks me for my opinion that isn't too rude, but also lets him know that I'm no idiot?

Level: 3 CS Original | It sounds to me more like that book was written by Jehovah's Witnesses and the people on that site are JW critics.

Level: 5 CS Original | I could take the time to explain it to him, but he will just dismiss what I say as being the devils words or something. Then I'll get frustrated and start insulting him hehe.

Genuine American Monster Level: 70 CS Original | @Sky, I think you're right and its a site for former JWs. The co-worker is probably a JW, in which case you should probably just not talk to him about it.

Level: 5 CS Original | Both pieces of literature list watchtower.org on the back cover. I googled it and it seems to be a Jehovah's witness organization. I'll just tell him I'm not interested or something, and walk away.

Genuine American Monster Level: 70 CS Original | Yep, he's a Jehova's Witness. Just avoid the dude. You don't want him accusing you of creating a hostile work environment or something stupid because you're not down with his cult.

Level: 0 CS Original | I was looking at some videos of Michael Cremo last night. He's Fundamentalist Hindu who has been quite prolific in the anti-evolutionary movement over the past decade. My CT mate sent me links to his Youtube videos as 'proof' that man has been walking the earth for over 250 million years. It is the biggest pile of nonsense he has sent me yet, and I am now very worried how he will never get out of this crazy frame of mind he is in. Cremo is nuts and all his evidence is old school hoaxes which have been investigated and rejected many times over. He also completely fails to explain or integrate the overwhelming evidence for evolution into his theory of man. Check his website...he is strange: http://www.mcremo.com
