![]() Level: 3 CS Original | I wonder if any real distinction exists between the Alex Joneses of the world and more mainstream social critics like, say, the late George Carlin:

![]() Genuine American Monster Level: 70 CS Original | I've often asked myself the same question in regards to Bill Hicks. Especially since I am a huge fan of Bill Hicks and I have to rationalize his CT crap somehow.

![]() Level: 3 CS Original | People in the U.S. do have more control over their lives than CT'ers claim. You don't have to eat junk food, believe in a god, go into debt, buy crap you don't need, etc. That doesn't mean you have to join a fight club and blow up financial buildings as a form of resistance. But we do have plenty of resources and alternatives to allow us to live with a lot of relative elbow room. Even socially disadvantaged people have better choices. Their demagogues blame "the man" for the drugs in their communities, for example. But they can totally defeat the man's evil CT to make them use drugs by simply not consuming them. The same goes for problems with the police. Obey the law, and treat the police respectfully when they confront you, and they most likely won't beat or arrest you.

![]() Genuine American Monster Level: 70 CS Original | I think we Americans have an incredible amount of freedom to express ourselves. "But they can totally defeat the man's evil CT to make them use drugs by simply not consuming them." Well, the problem with that is when the wealthy crackers take a trip to darkie town for their weekend narcotics. In that regard, minority groups do have a point when blaming "the man." I can see both sides on that one.

![]() Level: 9 CS Original | I'm not sure I would say that George Carlin is a CT'er... perhaps someone who is just very critical of "the system". I do recall arguing with a CT'er on another forum though, his final "evidence" for me was a George Carlin quote something along the lines of: "They call it the American Dream, because you have to be asleep to believe it". Clearly definitive proof of the NWO.

![]() Level: 3 CS Original | CT'ers express many of the same grievances as the arguably sane social critics. CT'ers just go farther to claim that all the powerful people have met in secret conclaves to agree on the same malign agenda, whereas social critics see constantly shifting coalitions of more or less powerful people who often find they have a basis for working towards common goals that serve their own interests, but not necessarily everyone else's interests. Even then these powerful people often bring their disputes out in public, as we've seen in the debates about bailouts and health care.
